Put 14s on the front finally and added some '61 Galaxie wheelcovers, then broke the thermostat housing. Now that it looks like a stock Futura, I really need to start the hot rodding part of the project.

    Hey Peddro!
my brother bought them from Mooneyes for his wifes t bird and never used them, so i put them to use. they have no markings that i can find of maker:confused:. they are 14x6 wheels.

  5. Eric, Thanks for the info. This is the Cragar I mentioned.

The place that has them has a few variations on the same theme, but this one looks the closest to what you're running. Was just curious as it was a coincidence that I happened to be eyeballing them and then I saw your ranchero on this post. I just bought myself a '63 wagon, and it NEEDS something more than the stock 13" rims!

Pull the shocks and use a spring compressor to compress and remove the spring. You need to be careful, there is a lot of energy in a compressed spring.

  9. Well thats easy enough. I was reading other threads ( about other cars) and they were talking about having to pop the ball joint out. I didnt think you'd hafta go that far. Thanks man.

Hi Falconers. I bought a real 1963 Sprint in 1977 (red w/primered nose) and proceeded to butcher it until I parted it out in 1983. It appeared on eBay in 2007. I bought it again (gray w/no hood). Only kept the vent windows and recycled the rust. It would go 150 all day long.:) I'm building a red 1963 Futura currently.

I know it's a 67'. Kinda too new. But thought I'd share a pic of my
    428CJ top loader Falcon.

I've got a pretty good magazine collection and a brand new scanner. ;) :D

  20. Also, it REALLY helps to remove the spring covers so you can get the compressor on with more coils between the ends.

any negative effects for doing this? it looked to me like they might strengthen the tower. mine no longer fit due to the bags so i was going to make some that do fit. if they're not needed, i'll skip the extra work.:D

I need to know the stock track width on a 60-62 Falcon, particularly the front or the hub to hub mounting surface distance please?
