I thought I heard somewhere that they were going to remake this movie. Not sure if that is true or not and not sure why??
What I liked about that merc is that it was a fast hopped up merc not a lowrider cruiser. You just dont see that done on mercs.

Okay, I just watched the chase scene and it IS pretty exciting to see a car that old doing that shit... but I thought it was stupid car in 1986 just like now! It's trying to be a Mustang or something... I was chopping my car around that time, and I didn't have any dreams of blowers and hood scoops for it, believe it or not. But that's just me...

And I didn't say I was mean to people that called my shoebox a Cobra car, (Okay, there was ONCE) but I thought maybe just between us I could admit my true feelings about it, (sniff, sniff...)

I'm just kidding, I like everything. Group hug...

they did a good job on the continuity of the cars in that chase sequence. Anyone else notice the small dummy sticks on the tops of the fenders on the merc?

now that im into mercs and watch that movie i look at all the damage that happens to those cars. like how he tweaks the hell out of the front bumper when he pushes the impala forward thats in his spot. if they do make a new one i hope they have a disclaimer at the beginning of it that reads " no original mercury's were damaged or destroyed during the making of this movie":D

Your not gunna believe this ,but i had a chopped 54 Chevy a few years back that wore faded grey primer for awhile. It also had moon discs on it.About every 2nd time i stopped somewhere in it ,i got the same comments .Except some would say that looks just like that merc from that movie "Cobra" .I eventually painted it satin black and ditched the moon discs because i got tired of debating what kind of car i was driving to people that didnt know what they were talking about ...

If, they remake the movie they can use Gene Winfield's fiberglass Merc and save the real stuff. I liked the movie myself, unreal sure but fun. Movies are always destroying cool cars, they have a lot of money to blow.
I'd take Cobra and lower it, some WWW and cool caps and shit can the hood scoop. :D

Well here's a new one I had a 1980 35' Cigarette Racing boat. I had it at a friends house for storage (paid rent), I had it there wait for restoring it. He my friend took the boat to Corpus Christi Tx had it worked on at a shop. Well my friend was sent to club fed and all this time I'm thinking the boat is safe. Well the boat had a lean on it and was sold to some other person. and I'm out 50,000 including triple axle trailer!!! I never recived a notice that the boat had a lean and I even still have the title to it!!

Actually if the Merc was insured at the time and the owner got paid off from the insurance company the Merc now belongs to the insurance company.
