Okay, so I just got chastized by my brother (OleTruck) for not introducing myself. So here it is, I am WTFOVR from Texas (sort of). He also got mad because I have some late models in my profile. Too bad. So I just bought a 1962 Ford Fairlane..........not sure if I got a good deal or a headache yet, only time and my checking account will tell. For a living I work in Afghanistan; going on 4 years straight. I get 3 trips home for 2 weeks every year so my time at home to work on toys is limited at best. Here is my new ride I think the motor will get swapped for this little guy though. Just not sure if I want to keep the EFI or go carb. and a glimpse at my other main money pit.. .......gotz da turbo
Welcome! 6 weeks a year is gonna make it awfully tough to get much done, but I wish you the best on your build.
Thanks I have been building the Cobra for 2 plus years now and I am ready for it to be finished. This build is going to be on the cheap. I am wanting to use all take off parts from the Cobra or the money from selling take off parts to pay for the parts/work.
The Cobra looks awesome man! 2 years seems to be the number. I have been working on mine for 2 years and I'm just about finished. Oh, I forgot to mention that I really like the Fairlane. I'm really not trying to offer suggestions on what to do, but when I look at your car I keep seeing a gasser. Check out 60 gasser. He has a really badass 60 Biscayne gasser. I look forward to your build pics no matter what direction you decide to take.
Thanks fella's. I guess I will see what kind of a mess I may have ventured into with the Fairlane in a few days. I depart Afghanistan tomorrow and should be back from Mexico on the 13th.
Good to see more 62 Fairlanes here! Mine is just about torn down, ready for the rebuild. Trying to decide on engine/trans. Stock or not.
