Dude those tail lights look downright wicked! I would entertain the idea of deleting the windsplits since there is no tail light housing there anymore, but man those look killer.

Being a tough guy on the internet is just, like, so0o00ooo cool.

you have not heard of the shoe box plymouth. The same dip shits that call a 55 chevy a shoe box , think plymouth made a shoe box in 49. And don't forget the 55 chevy nail head engine. I wont talk about the slant 6 because it is obviously way beyond your comprehension. But feel free to take any of our terms or nick names and make them fit what ever you wont, your lack of knowledge should not stop you from opining your big mouth.

Just noticed the last two who think chevy made a shoe box are both from new jersey. And are to young to know how the term was coined. THE USE OF DUDE TELLS THE WHOLE STORY.

just wondering what the hell does being from NJ have to do with what car is called a shoebox? I admit, I never heard a chevy called a shoebox until I picked up a Hot Rod mag in the 80s, and then again heard it more wide spread here.. I figured it was a west coast thing or something.. to me and all the old timers I ever talked to here in NJ, the 49-51 fords were called shoeboxes.. because of thier shape. Personally I dont give a rats ass, who you are or where your from, and what you call a shoebox be it ford or chevy, or other make, everyone has thier own opinons and thoughts based on thier upbringing..so I just nod and shrug it off, doesnt really matter all that to me. Though I just dont get how some guys feel the need to belittle someone, like a few of the post here, just because of a nic name of a car..

oh and here is my 50 ford..

i've been messing with these cars both ford and chevy for several decades now. the term shoebox was coined to refer to the boxy look of the non fat fendered car. the first being the 49 ford. but the name still referred to any boxy shaped vehicle ..hence ,when referring to a particular car it was shoebox ford or shoebox chevy..etc.
some folks get territorial for some odd reason and it really don't make a difference either way. people will call what they want to call them.
as for getting pissy about it, there really is no basis.....i've owned both and i just call them hotrods.

just build it,buy it,drive it..in 20 years this argument will still be going on and we'll be 6 feet under.
