Hey everyone. Love old school muscle, customs, and hot rods. Was going to pick up a 52 ford pickup this weekend but it got sold today so now I'm on the hunt for my new old school truck project. Glad I was introduced to this site.

    Welcome from South Georgia :D

  3. hey oldskewl welcome.
I'm heading over to your neck of the woods next July.
I'll be staying out near Fort Eustis. I didn't see many rods or customs when I was there a couple of years back.
Maybe you can increase the numbers when you find your new 'toy'
I'll keep an eye out for you!;)
    Good luck with the 'hunt'

Thanks everyone. Oh just wait till you get back here. Over the summer at the Harley shop in yorktown there is a classic car gathering every saturday night. I'm very anxious to get another old truck. Let me know when you get in town and one saturday we can meet up at the car show.

No I usually work on Sunday's and have to be up at 3am so usually don't get out there for that. Would like to though. Spare time is hard to come by these days.

    Welcome from the Valley!

  18. Starting off 26 July for 2 nights in New York, then heading down to Newport News, I will be there for 10 days.
    Can't wait!
My Navy Buddie's going to be posted overseas when I'm there,so hopefully I can 'steal' his wheels to get around!
(It's a Daytona. Don't get too excited though it's a late model 'wrong wheel drive'......)
Might use his Dodge Ram,at least it's got a V8 and rear wheel drive..
Driving on the wrong side will be 'interesting'!

Might have found my project truck. Going to look at and hopefully buy a '51 ford pickup this Saturday. Only bad part his some wisenhimer put a Chrysler 383 and 4x4 running gear under it. Will probably run it with that for a while till I can drop my 351w and c4 in it then drop it to the ground. Keeping fingers crossed.

  23. I'm used to Left hand drive cars,I just need to get my head round the road position.
I remember back in '77 my old man had a go in my cousins Duster when we were in Detroit,we nearly got creamed by a semi!
The Ford sounds good as long as the previous owner hasn't hacked the chassis about too much for the 4x4 stuff!
You've got to keep it all Blue oval parts.
My buddy had a '55 with a 351/C4 and 9" rear a few years back and it was a blast!
It kind of switched me onto this hobby/obsession in a big way!
Let us know how you get on.
    Good luck!
