I saw2sedans and a roadster for sale at Hersey. One coupbody $2500 and a complete car looking very restorable for $6000. Roadster was restored$13000 asio remember
I saw this car in person at Viva that year and fell in love with it. When it hit the auction site I had to do a reality check on myself not to bid on it. Last I heard it's over here on the East Coast somewhere.
Here is a friend of mine's '37 Austin 7 with a '32 Ford grille shell. The car originally came out of Cali. and was an ex-drag car when it was shipped to the east coast.
http://www.usbodysource.com/ but I'd order a heavier race body as street is twice the money and I had to cut seat riser out of floor to even get in. Do a flat panel or a '27 T floor and save a couple thou.
Phil, can't wait to see some pics of yours !!! What are you going to do for the windshield frame ?? Also, isn't the race body the lighter version ?? Just curious ?
Race is lighter, but they say they can make it any weight, so order it made heavier than race weight. I bought 25' of 3275T16 glass locking edge grip seal from McMaster Carr to do windows.
Hey Brother Bantam owners, check this out !! Some of you expressed interest in getting one, I don't know if this is the one for you or not but it is the one for someone If it were closer to me I would be trying for it, I have a soft spot for them http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...&_trkparms=algo=LVI&its=I&otn=2&category=6472
We have been doing the roadster since the mid-60's, but never the coupe. Check with US Body Source in Florida. Ken & Pam have a very slick coupe mold. Rich
Here is a picture of my Bantam Roadster. I grafted on a 15" cowl extention or I wouldn't be able to drive it.
I want to know more about this car too, does anyone know about this car? More pictures? I love how its small, has anyone shorten a ford sedan to look like this?

Here's a summary and an update. I moved it all into one thread. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=437990 Thanks for the mention...
When I was a Boy Scout, at the patrol leaders house was an American Bantam with a Ford V860 in it. My father in his infinate wisdom said "NO" to my request to buy it (75.00).. I am still depressed with that decision. This is not it.
These look so cool but one thing always has had me corn-fused... where the hell do they run the gas tank in these little things? Aint nowhere left to put it...!
it was in a magazine as a feature article within the last year or so. i can't find it for the life of me though! i'll keep looking. bad-ass project!!!
Thought I would throw this back to the top and see if any updates are in? Phil1934 did you ever take any pics of you in the car or the inside of the car. I got sidetracked on mine and have done nothing BUT we did bring it to the front shop AGAIN today, so let's see if I can do something with it !! Anyone else ????
I've been working on a new house but will put it in garage here in a couple weeks and post some. But last few details are slowing move in. The top grill is the only one out of 22 in right.
here's one built in 1966. got sold and was last seen at a new york city car show. guy claimed he built it, but all he did was add the blue stripe. funny story, when first built, fired up in drive way, hammer down and the old girl rotated on it's rear tires. stood straight up and slammed the back of the body to the earth. back to body shop. wish I had pics of the build.
Cool ....Hope the house works out good !!! Like to see a human (man) in one of these things, I test fit myself in it last night and it was not good but then again it was on a cart so it was hard to crawl in. Neat car man.......got any other pics of the finished car !!!
