Allright,i am torn, one part of me wants to leave the car alone as it was in 1967-1972 ,corvette yellow, leave the nose glassed up in raw when it hit the wall in 72, and just get it to run and drive,,,the other half (the bodyshop guy) wants to paint it a killer 1970's swindler candy blue with some lace and blue windows?,,,or ?????????,,what ya think guys and gals?

I`d get the body right and paint it 60-early 70s style if it were mine.

Doesn`t look like there is significant lettering/history on the car.
I`m sure some others will say leave it though.

Man,this is a busy place! 4 people replied before I could finish my answer-LOL

I think that it's a question of what is more important to you, being a follower of the "patina" fad or properly preserving this car.

I'm for the old school trick paint job. I love that stuff. Never really cared about that stuff way back, if it didn't make my car faster I really didn't pay it any close attention. I'd see a nice job, but couldn't justify the cost to just make a car look good. Now for years I've been doing custom lettering and pinstriping and a few paint jobs. I appreciate a trick paint job, well, as a matter of fact , I can appreciate anything done right...... I guess I'm finally maturing.

I like blue. I like gold leaf lettering. I like funky panels. I like plexi windows.

I loved Corvette Yellow back in the day...

I agree, if there was cool vintage paint and lettering to preserve, I would save it.

    In this case...

    Paint it.

One car with a nice paint job is enough.

Keep this one like it is, ......................preserve underneath, floor, rockers, etc to protect the structure. Then, drive it.

Would you believe, many people that say paint is for preventing rust, only paint what shows and don't get down under and behind the rockers, where the worst rust gets?

I'd paint it too. Candy blue is kick ass, I'd do candy brandywine and gold leaf with amber tinted windows. I'd pony up for era proper waterslide decals too. In the blue I'd go psychodelic patterns and lots of chrome before I did lace. Candy stripe the driveshaft, paint the motor to match the car color and lots of chrome there too. That car is a blank canvas for some great ideas and it would be a shame to waste it :D

How deep are your pockets? If you have tons of money to throw at it, paint it. If the cost of paint is going to cause you a hardship then skip the paint.
