Yeah, that's the All Weather model K-12 folding chair. They've had a lot of trouble with that particular model. It's seems the guy who designed it is the same guy who invented the trash compactor.

Many people who purchased this model have had problems when the chairs self-implode empaling and crushing it's occupant.

  2. You seem to know a lot about that chair:p. OOPs, I better be nice, or I won't get my Tee's:D

You mean you didn't see the CNN special report on those, the designer used to cruise Van Nuys Boulevard looking for races. The problem was he kept crushing the competition.

No, I usually wear one of these if it looks like it's going to rain:

Yeah, that'd work alright, but, it might look more like I just arrived from the set of Mary Poppins.

I thought about modifying one of those car bags you park cars in, and cutting the bottom out of it but then I couldn't splash mud all over the lawn chair
enthusiast when I hall ass past Rydells, and that would bum me out.

The newest weather forcasts today do not call any rain Tuesday or Wednesday, so it looks like things will be ok for this month's cruise, which is good, considering the toy drive that will be taking place.

No rain is expected until after midnight on Wednesday.

  12. True the Weather Channel says no rain for Tuesday or Wednesday. Cool, very cool. I'll be there, no '55 but I'll be there.

....another positive is that the weather will be cool= cool motors for cruising!!!

I will be there with my Duster and my dad driving the Charger.

  14. Yes, it's lookin a bit better for V.N. but a bit worse for Mooneyes. Hopefully we can "bob and weave" our way through this weekend. It's the last weekend of any cool shit for a while (Long Beach Swap, Lowrider show @ Woodley Park, Mooneyes...)

The more that I read, the more likely it looks like it is going to be completely dry all 24 hours of Wednesday. Last week, all of the National Weather Service and NOAA forecast models called for some rain. Now that it is closer to time, they have adjusted and show less than 5%. We should be ok.

The weekend forecast models are still in some diagreement on how much rain, if any there will be. There probably won't be a complete answer until Thursday or so, so it the weekend may not be a complete wash as well.

The don't believe half of the crap forecasts that the local weather guys give. Most of them are not actual meteorologists and rely on not-so up to date and technical computer forecasting models. Take the original forecast for Wednesday, for instance.

Ok, I will stop my weather rant now. Ive studied some of it while I am in college, plus I took some interest as a child, so it is easy to go off on a lecture. Lol.

  16. Wednesday will be very interesting. Two months ago it stopped raining HOURS before cruise time, and still only a handfull of cars showed

Partly cloudy for Wednesday, yes, but zero rain. At best, there is 40% chance of rain each day from Thursday til Sunday, which won't be a wash out by any means.

....but the key is: no rain Wednesday. That much is known, so far.

    Hey Daddyos,

I came across a few photographs or some street racing on Van Nuys Blvd.
from back in the 1960s & 70s. The guy who took them was a VN nut with a camera and a hard on for street racing.

This photo is of 4 cars across racing late night in the fog from Oxnard to Burbank. Pretty freakin' radical, yet kool.

  26. That's some pretty damn thick fog to be drivin in, let alone racing. But, out of respect to the T-shirts you're gonna give me, I won't call BULLSHIT:D:p:eek:

  27. Craig, you missed the point of it. By now I thought you would understand American humor. How long you been here?

He said it was about 20 degrees out, kinda like it's going to be tomorrow night, and he shot this at the signal while they were racing their engines, anyway, the photo is a pretty incredible find.
