I've had a few PM's informing me of the Peter Beater's latest appearance in a mag. Sure makes me miss that ol pile of parts. One PM in particular hit me hard. It stated that my car (not anymore) has been the inspiration for his latest build. I know this doesn't mean alot to alot of you guys that build for a living or buy to flip for a $$$$ but it means the world to me. I really do miss workin' on that pile of crap that was broke more often than not. I miss pumpin' the gas on cold mornings, wondering if the 65 yr old brakes were gonna work at the next red light, is that noise normal? Damn I miss the Peter Beater....an aweful lot. Stay tuned for my next endeavor.....no doors, 26" wide, 100hp. FUN!!
funny how that car got passed around through four of us within twelve months...and now it is a magazine car!
Yeah, crazy. It was in a 1/2 page pic in Autoweek a few years back and a few other little pics but nothin' worth writin' about. My favorite version is when it was at Detroit Autorama w/stroker Flathead, lakes headers, knobbies, Ford brakes. Ya know, dangerous but RIGHT!!!
I think that was one of the first times I saw it, and I loved it. The flatty the grey paint and the pipes, man that was/is a cool car. I understand why it's gone but it's gotta be hard.
Yup!! Same here. I also thought the best rendition was the first. Something about flathead/5 spd (didn't detract from the old timey feel at all), flat black and the clever build items just screamed early hot rod, built by a young guy with what he had. Now that I think about it I'm all in favor of having you tarred and feathered for selling it. The girls could have ridden with me in the '32 and you could have kept it. Offer still goes but now they will have to come home with me. Frank
Hi Everyone, Funny that I just sent an email yesterday to Poverty Flats telling him that the roadster is featured in the latest Street Rodder magazine (Feb 2010) on page 46...Guess maybe from the Kansas City Good Guys show last fall. Neat little machine... Malcolm looks quite happy with it, in an early posting in this thread... Have a great day!...duane (NM Sandrail)
