I just ran accross a 2x4 Cross Ram Edelbrock X-F66 that fits an FE Ford. Guy said they had it on a Built 352 in a '56 Ford back in the '60's. Any one here Have, Seen, Run, or know how Rare these might be ? I have been Swaping & Buying Speed Equipment for Years & never run up on one of these. If ya got pic of one or an Old Racer, Rod, or ?? running one Post a Pic.
I have only seen a couple through the years, never one on a running engine.I have heard that the crossram doesn't run too well on a street engine.I have seen a few on SBCs but I think they made quite a few of SBC engines.
i have a 1957 ford custom 300 my dad has had since 1968 this motor has been in this car since 1973 with a/c that works
I may trade it ....... But not for any Chevrolet Junk ! Come up with A Hemi Manifold & Maybe a deal can be struck.
I had one and like an idiot sold it for $300 when I moved to Oregon. Now I'm looking for another. They are readily available and do work OK in the mid RPM range (3500-5500). They come up regularaly on the FEForum. Do you need a tripower manifold? I know of a couple for sale. The Edelbrock does not require special Dizzy mods like the MT crossram.
These are sweet and come up on ebay pretty often or they used to (mainly m/t's). Only once seen one in person though on this ugly ford at the bowling green hot rod reunion. Would love to have one of these manifolds for my g***er but dont have a thosand bux to drop on one.
They seem to be fairly rare, I think Edelbrock only made them for a year or two. I see them at swap meets and online from time to time. Do a search on this link for performance information, apparently in dyno testing they work pretty well in the midrange on a fairly serious engine. Fuel distribution seems to be an issue with those. http://www.network54.com/Forum/74182/
As Cool as this Manifold is, I think i may wanna trade it off for some other Neat Looking Manifold. What do you guys have out there to swap ? Prefer NO OFFENHAUSER parts ... To common... Or CHEVROLET Stuff. DeSoto/Chrysler Hemi, '55-'60 Pontiac, Flathead Ford, Y-Block or ??? Old Weird Odd Rare Speed Equipment
