Hey all. if anyone had pictures of any mild custom, oldschool ect thuderbirds (1955&1956) because i cant find any pictures of them and need some ideas thanks
Here is one that Tom Culbertson built years ago. Its a little more radical than mild but either way its neat!
Even though 1st gen T-birds are on my small list of "don't fuck with" vehicles... those customs sure look sweet...
That " don't fuck with " reason is exactly why you SHOULD fuck with it...to piss off the squares, man....
I just started collecting pictures of these... <input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden"><input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden"><input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">
thanks for the photos and opions guys. i always thought a white on white 56 all stock but just airbagged would look awsome.
49lincoln, i saw the red one burning to the ground on the side of the 405 about 2 tears ago.... its a shame it was a really nice car.
Can't see much of the car, but you get the idea!<TABLE class=fieldset cellSpacing=1 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD> sohc bird.jpg (74.1 KB)</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
I've got a book with twin '56 Tbirds in it, one lime green, one maroon. They are mild customs and have Edsel Bermuda wagon taillights on them. Very sharp. I'm not much on "laying rocker"... but damn!
I like 'em...I'm looking for one...and I'm in the don't fuck with 'em crowd. I've never seen a custom one that looks better than the original, although I would lower it an inch or two.
I'm in the "don't do anything irreversible to them" crowd...mine's a stocker (except for some vintage Y-block speed parts on the 312)but I would like to lower it a bit, add '56 Mercury wagon tail light housings, dump the conti-kit and the front bumper guards: Having said everything above, this one is very tasteful, especially the flared wheel wells in back. Any more pictures of this one?
Go here to Rik Hovings (rikster) Site.... I am sure there are more in the Barris section... http://public.fotki.com/Rikster/11_..._i_like/ford_custom_cars/ford-t-bird-customs/
Not really a custom, but more like "60's rodded". She's got the original 292 / 3-speed. Interior mods include smaller steering wheel, gauge panel under the dash, no arm rests on door panels. Exterior mods include custom tube grille, no front bumper guards, Crager SS wheels with blackwalls, no fender skirts. Jim
