WOW!!! I can't believe the incredible motors that have been posted. There are motors and then there are MOTORS. I am just blown away with some of these motors.

These motors were at SEMA last month.

  2. Not that I don't appreciate a BRODIX headed, billet accessorized SBC ... but considering this is a Traditional Hot Rod message board, I thought it might be more appropriate to post pics of "Traditional Hot Rod Motors with Attitude" ... here's a few:

I know it's not as cool as some of the older power plants (I esp like the blown flatheads) but this BB Chebby 427, with original L88 aluminum heads and tripower carbs has some serious attitude.

  6. That car also has an aluminum block. Only non-new part in/on the engine is the valve used for blower's pop-off. Crazy, huh?

My friend got me hooked on Cummins engines. At the El Cajon car show down here there is a I think '20s-30s Dodge big truck with a Cummins in it, real nice truck.

  8. In grad school they wanted a glowing exhaust shot. I got our propane Ford 429 good and warm and retarded the spark timing to get a bright glow. They took a while taking the photo and not too long after that our WW-II vintage dyno threw a chunk of cummutator. That was a $20k photo for the cost it took to get the dyno repaired.

Note the complete lack of pushrod tubes on the radial motor above. What's up?

And while we're talking Can Am here's another entry for this blue oval love-fest. The Calliope: 427", 3 cams, magnesium block and heads, injection cast right into the cyl heads.
