BTW.....my 52 in my avatar is on a Camaro (Aussie HZ Holden) frame clip,

We put it in with a 2 inch Z (Aligned with TOP of rail, not bottom) and if I put bags in it it WILL touch Earth.

Thats what im thinking about doing with my 61 but i cant find a subframe around here for sale.

  12. There out there. All 2nd gen. Camaro's 1970-1981.

  13. Camaro clip is easiest. 1967 through 81 Camaro or Firebird can be used, but obviously you`d want to find one with power steering and disc brakes. I have bought them for $100-250.

How come you aren`t driving that thing yet ????? :D

Theres a Pick N Pull yard in Pasadena TX that at one time (this was about 2 months ago when I was there last) had 5 camaros 74-81 vintage and a couple 74-79 skylark, omega, novas also - btw the skylark, omega, and nova of those years used the same subframe as the camaros of that era

that might be a good route to go, thats a rear steer setup and I believe the early 60s ford trucks are rear steer also (not positive on that) so mating the steering prolly wouldnt be that difficult

Thank you everyone for your help i want the 2nd gen because the steering is in front of the crossmember so that is one less clearence issue i will have the crown vic front end wont work with the air ride setup and the mustang II is to expensive and i will still have to Z the frame Hey Dead Pan do you have a phone number for that pic and pull you are talking about

here's mine, 79 camaro clip up front....I'm just wondering if I should have swapped the rear end with the camaro rear. oh well, now I just need to finish this POS
p.s. like someone mentioned before....camaro clip="no negative camber"

    Bringing up an old thread.
Most if the information is based on doing these in 64 and prior trucks.
Considering options on my 66 swb. What are the pro's and con's of either the Crown Vic swap or the Volare swap?
I have an FE with the hedman headers in it currently.

    Thank you, Joe

I am doing a mm2 kit to get it to lay on the frame I had to Z the front 2 1/2in and get rid of the trans cross.

Wow just realized this thread is 3 years old lol.
