What year are these Cadillac hubcaps

Does anyone know what exact year these caps are? I have heard they are 53. Anyone know what they are worth? I have 5.

 

they are junk give them to me and ill throw them away haha i believe you are correct on the year. previous were the sumbraros, and 54 55 was a sumbraro with ribs around the center.

 

1953 cadillac there are two types, your picture side look the same, but the retension is different. One uses a center small cap mount. that some people weld rings on to use on other than cad wheels.The other mount style and rarer uses clips around the outside

I hear that the ones with the mounting clips were used on commercial ch***is like a he**** and ambulance.

 

I had one of those and was told either '52, or '52-'53. I can't remember now. I know after some dude tried to offer me $10 for it at a show (marked considerably more) I either put it away, or put it on eBay.

 

Anyone know what they are worth?

 

I am thinking about. I was saving them for a 50 chevy build in the future, but could use some money to finish my 38 ford truck. I know they are hard to find. Took me a while to find a full set.

 

DITTO on that mounting method John. I got some that are itchin' to be mounted on the '54

 

An uneducated guess on value, probably around $150.00 to $200.00 if they are clean. That is what I see at swap meets! As stated the deal is matching them with the wheels with the proper mounting set up. ~Sololobo~

 

I just bought some repops off of mcveys for $95 a piece, centers were $50. If the set is nice you could probably get $3-350ish
