Thanks the spirt, FreeBird. If you PM those guys who posted, I imagine MOST would help you pinpoint the yards, man. SOMEbody might as well save some of these babies and/or parts!

Okay guys & gals who brave briars, thistles and snakes to search for old iron! I did a review of how many folks in various states have contributed -- directly or indirectly -- PHOTOS of vintage-tin-in-the-wild and in junkyards to this central thread. The findings are pretty COOL!!!!

One ONE thread, you can now see PIX of oldies from 39 states! Plus, more from four Canadian provinces, Mexico, Australia and even Denmark!

If we want ALL 50 states represented, we need HAMBers in the FOLLOWING states to search their collections (or nearby junkyards) for photos! We need tin from:

    Tennessee
    Mississippi
    Arkansas
    Louisiana
    North Dakota
    South Dakota
    Colorado
    Nevada
    Wyoming
    Montana
    Hawaii

Until now we haven't had a COLOR photo of a really early junkyard on this thread
, so HERE were are. Junkyard photo from the National Archives (possibly copy-
righted). The post-WWII car in background, as well as the rich color film used here,
suggest this pic was taken in the early 1950s.

Hiya, Frankie! Hey, is this a different angle on the river bend near Cherokee, North Carolina? Resembles the shot earlier in this thread. Anyway, I love these, casue it shows what a PROBLEM old cars used to be. People and governments were LOOKING for creative ways to put junked cars to a beneficila USE!!! How times have changed.

Wow! Just look at those roadsters & coupes!!! IF THIS PICTURE COULD TALK! I wonder WHERE this yard was and WHEN. The buildings kind of look like tenaments.

I thought there was something familiar about the pic above! It clicked. Milwaukee, 1936, right in the city (albeit, the apparent poor side of town). Gasser had posted this from Shorpy, early in this thread. A good pic to revisit, though!!!

CarlS, good to see you back, man. Here I fret about NOT having Vintage Tin pix from 11 U.S. states, and YOU come along with iron from Cambodia and Namibia? LOL

I guess this thread really HAS gone "global" !!! (BTW, I liked the U.S. halftrack out West!)
