Clay Lacy's DC-7 puts on a demonstration 'drag race' vs. a fueler at the 1971 San Diego Cup air race/show. The digger no doubt sounded cool but a DC-7 has a sound all it's own.

I first learned who ER was on the Revell model boxes--the ones with the photos of Doug Cook, Ivo, Bob Tindle, Dean Moon, Tony Nancy and Ed Roth on the side of the boxes. That goatee was SO cool back in the early '60s--goatees like Ed's were still unusual then. Then the paint racks showed up in hobby shops and the Roth ads in comic books but the first time I saw ER was a Revell model box.
