Event Coverage Mooneyes California 2009, Photos

  1. Rain, yes, lots of rain, a little depressing, yes, realizing who has balls, priceless.
I admit, my 31 coupe wasnt there, not because I didnt want to drive it, because of engine issues, six Strombergs and tons of water don't mix, but I still drove my wifes 57 T-bird and it was fun.
    Huge turnout, considering the weather.
Here are some general, rather gloomy pictures, of this years Mooneyes CA 09 show.

The Palm Trees did look real gloomy, but hell......at indoor shows, the cars are all shiny, and one paintjob is kinda the same as another, all waxed up etc.

In this weather, a few of those paint jobs are STILL glowing!!!!!!!

That thing of McPhail's didnt rock me so much in 'nicer' pics, but out there in the reality, its a frikkin knockout!!!!!

Was that the REAL Jade Idol out in it?? :D

The overcast makes for diffused light and pics look way better.
I need to get out there one year.

ZZ Top was even there cruising the display area, chaufered by a young lady in a skirted, WWW, flipper capped black Scion. He did get out and was taking pictures with fans in the crowd.

For those of us that went to the Mooneyes Xmas show today we all survived a little rain, yes the car count was down but it was still a good day, no huge lines, I saw only 1 car over heating and no one wanted to mess up there hair so there was no fight's !! It was Kopis coming to the rescue with the EZ-UP ( I owe you some beers) and it was nice catching up and seeing all you guys. It was nice meeting Tamera.
I just shot a few short movies.

Proud 'o you boys that made the show in the rain !! That's how we do it up here in rain country.....If you don't drive in the rain...You don't get to drive your rod. Kind of brought back memories of the Winfield Watson show I went down for in October; freakin rained ALL the way home...800 miles of pouring rain and wind, ..sure didn't have any problem finding the leaks in my Chevy !!

We drove up (in the rain) and set up (in the rain) and had a really fun day (in the rain).

I found out where the remaining leaks are in the 36. This is good to know so I can get them stopped before the drive to Lone Star Roundup.

A few cute and (and wet) gals stopped by to say Hi.

As always this is one of our favorite shows.

Good friends. Good Cars. Good times.
