that looks good from what I can see if nothing else, the amber sets off the green & chrome.like to see a full photo..my vote-leave it
My F100 is not real old, but the fog lights are from the 30's. Most people like them, and they come on with the parking lights. My brother got them at an auction in a box of junk for a dollar bid. They were still in the oridginal Firestone boxes marked $4.75. I had to replace the 6 volt sealed beams with 12 volt at cost of $30 each. That old chrome is outstanding.
These were on my ol man's 35 Chevy back in 41. they hung in the garage in burlap bag wrapped in oiled newspaper. thought I would put them to use. Dietz 510's. 6V sealed beam bulb.
Unity lamp co still produces the old stile fog lights.Have a crown on top with unity on it.You can also get car name,Ford Chev Ect. on them I run 2 8 inch on my 52 and 2 6inch on my 51 both trucks amber bulbs.I picked up a old unity bumper mount light and the bulb is marked passing clamp mount like fits old flat bumpers. It still burns and is very bright for a 6 volt bulb .Made a good wall hanger.Unity also make spotlights.Thay have a website .
I lived in the Sacramento and Stockton area if you have ever traveled that area in the winter the fog off the Sacramento River along Hwy 99,Hwy 5 and Hwy 80 gets so bad there are times you can't see past the end of your hood.I was in aftermarket sales and sold them by the hundreds, mostly KC and Blazer. If it had wheels it probably would get fog lights.
Off topic yes,but still old,i run the yellow round fogs and the clear driving lamps, fogs come on with low beams and driving lamps with high beams. As to the question if you need them,it depends on where you live, Around here in ten minutes you are on rual two lane road with no street lights. I don't have any on the daily since my wife knocked off the bumper cover and I haven't fixed it yet, but i had a couple of large ones on there, around here I would say they are needed, if you live in the city and spend your time there, not so much. Hauling ass down a Georgia back road in the middle of the night surrounded by swamp, they will keep you alive No matter what you drive. for example a small plane just crashed in the swamp about 20 miles from here killing everyone on board, they couldn't get to it until the next day. That's the kind of area the roads around here go through. The round yellow lights are getting hard to find, mine still have real glass with seperate lenses , I couldn't find another set like them, ended up having the reflectors remirrored. As far as traditional I think the yellow lights look great. the grill is homemade by the way, not store bought, this was before i rewired them, the new light bar has the wires running through the square tube,so they are hidden, have to redo the bumper again the roads here give your lights and anything else on the front end of a car a real beating. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd158/lostforawhile/S4020099-1.jpg
Well,it's not a roadster but I like them on my pickup. They are the B-L-C type fog light/turn signals HRP
Not really fog lights but old ambulance lights. These are on the front of my flathead caddy powered 32 roadster project, once I get a chance ill post a few more pics. Pete-
Living in Merced,CA the Joaquin valley with( Tule Fog, about 10 feet thick) we needed fog lights in the 50ths. didn't care about cool. just needed to back from Fresno and Stans Drive Inn
I've got one on my '34. No bumper so I made a bracket off the frame horns. Fog King made a lot of these lights and they were used on cop cars, firetrucks etc. as well as cars. Some had light bulbs behind various color lenses and some, like mine had sealed beams. The 6 volt lamp I took out had a much nicer yellow color but the amber one I have in there is nice too. If you find a Fog King that has a fine white stripe around the lens it was probably made for a Cord.
Be careful. Those are probably illegal. Here, at least, you can't have blue lights unless you're a cop.
I'm gonna run it on my '34 truck, but probably won't turn it on. I think the cops would freak over it. Kevin
