The little GREEN HORNET, the uncles International nearly finished. Pickup has a 2-stoke detroit motor, will feature twin pipes. Truck has metal flake paint, and interior. The pinstripes and scroll style was used alot in the 60s and 70s here in New Zealand

here is mine.... I'm starting to think it's never going to get done!!!!!

been working on it for 7 long months!!!!!!

This build has me about whipped!!!! nothing has gone smooth!!!

I've been thrashing to get it done for the pile up... It's gonna be close!!!!

new crate 350, 700R, mustang II (it's actually for a 42 to 46 chevy truck with modifications), 4 link rear, Air Ride.... and every freakin nut bolt and thing that attaches to it is NEW!!! my budget truck idea went out of the window about 3 months ago!!!!

anyway I think it looks cool, and I guess you could say I'm brave enough to be different... because everyone who looks at it usually stands there, shake their head and says "WOW you must be nuts to put this much work and time into a damned 'ol International!"

I usually just laugh and say "YES I AM, But it's cool aint it!"

    hahaha! damn this car disease!!!!!

The "Golden Jubilee" model mentioned earlier was produced in 1957.
Here's a pic of a restored (or original?) one. If I'm not mistaken they only came in the gold & white color scheme.

Here's a local '57 or '58 up on blocks and peekin' through the trees.

IMHO the '57 / '58 body style isn't nearly as attractive as the earlier trucks, but I guess they have their own charm. (Actually they're so freakin' ugly they're kinda cute!).:D
Here's a '58 illustration stolen off the excellent Plan 59 site.

I am currently building a '57 S-110... Looked like this when I brought it home:

Just put a 6.9L IH diesel with an ATS turbo in it by swapping the chassis. I need a 3/4 ton truck for most of the hauling I do, so it was the best way. Especially since the motorhome chassis I used only had 40K miles on it and the price was right!!

Here is the new floorpan/firewall in mid-fab to clear the turbo...

Bottom of cab blasted, epoxied and coated with hot rod black:

6.9L motor looks right at home:

    Interior painting has begun-

I need to get some more recent pics... I now have the frame blasted and painted, the steering and brakes functional and this weekend is "wiring". I have moved the old girl into a portable canopy garage so its tough to get good photos of the overall progress...

Any of you guys know where I can find (or how I can make) the gaskets for the wing windows??

My family is dedicated IHC. We had a dealership for 30 some years. I love the styling of the S line trucks and we had a C99 (short well base slant 4) that us kids used as a fishing truck. (code for abused).

However what I remember as a kid was about a '56 merc 1/2 ton they took on trade. Thats what I wanted. However they sold it....

Hey LowFat post up some more pic's of that truck.........

  22. It always comes down to what you like. I personally like the thirties, and the 40'. The cornbinders were always a thorn in the side of the parts guy, because it was a mystery what parts they were using. Some of these examples shown are quite nice.

Good to see the Binders represented, I just sold a '52 L-112 and had the same problems with finding a good grille for it.

There is a salvage yard up my way that has a decent tailgate but not sure of what he would want for it..he is old school and you catch him on the right day he almost gives stuff away.
