What I'm wondering is why not just run the original ball-and-socket setup?

Here's mine. It's not even here yet (transporter nightmare)... I'm still trying to figure some things out myself... All I'm certain of is that it has to be cheap!

I've posted mine on the other 40 threads, but I might as well post it here too.
I've had it for 26 years. It's been a driver since 1992. Its NEVER had a hood on it since it hit the road. Someday, I'll get one on though...:).

Thanks for posting this pic. This 40 belonged to my friend and "40 Ford mentor". He passed away in 2008. many of the things that my Dad and I did on my coupe, were patterned after stuff that Jim had done on this tudor. I'm not sure what has become of this car since his death, as his son who was into cars has also since passed away.

I was in Oz earlier this year. met alot of nice guys, one of which, Pete Laxton , had these two. The delivery did 'push duty' at Bonneville before it landed in Oz.

I thought I read that the Moreland '40 was de-tuned and "updated" to a billet street rod? Maybe not.

Here's mine. I rebuilt the trans and rear end. Reversed eyed the rear spring. Just finished putting a new front end in. Dropped axle with reversed eyed spring (though I think I'm going to put a spring without the eyes reversed in). She was an early 60's or late 50's rod when I found her. It had/has a 1958 283 in it that runs great. So I'll drive it like it is for now.:D

Rough start . . . '08. Stored since '62. New floors, door bottoms, rear panel, etc. Installed new driveline, suspension, etc. Should drive this summer, '10.

Big job for old man, 68. Last '40 for me.
