The pic. of the boat tail Rivi. does it no justice.. That car was over the top when it was built.. If I remember correctly, the owner was Raul Hoyo. I am thinking Crazy Art did the paint and Bob and sons did the interior. Didn't see the other pic. in post # 353.. It gives you an idea of how badass this car was..
Here goes mate, Sex Pistol right? is this the one you where talkin about? This is the one on post 353, but im not sure its the same as in the french magazine w/ the Latino title? It has Imperials plaque against the Spirit cc on Sex Pistol, plus In the article it has flames on the trunk while on the show pics it doesnt. Maybe the article was written years later but i have doubts. Did you see the Jap boatail w/ a paint even more complicated than this? I guess they used this one for inspiration.(last pic.)
I love these pics as much as 40s and 50s hot rod e kustom related stuff. Check the 67 4dor chevy. How much 'flake does it has????? Jeeeez! I have tons more but i'll keep'em for the next few days/weeks.
Too much style.. Daydream ride- canted quad & packard tails, roll pans f&r, nose/ deck/ scooped/ shaved unchopped '56 210. Hot 283-4speed/ 4.11, black diamond leather/ body in pink OR lavender OR ice blue BUT PROLLY Lime CHUNKY flake with killer rub- out. Lifted on pinners & deep S/S's. Yep- that'll do it.
not the same car.. My bad.. Gotta stop looking at this stuff on my phone.. The one from imperials is the car i was thinking of.. The one in post 353 looks much different on a full size monitor.. Bitchen car none the less.
My freind Armono was in the Imperials back when the Gipsy rose got thrashed. He said it won car show after car show and You where expected to ''retire'' your car after it won every show it could. The guy kept showing it and winning...so...it got thrashed so he would have to step down.
Ask your friend if he remembers "Jose" tan '62 Impala.. "Conrad".. silver '77 cad.. "Richard" .. black 64 Impala/ moonroof. or "Feliz"... black 76 Caprice.. All these cars were juiced..

Kool links Eryk, many are also on Denver Kris Fotki page but others arent and im damn glad i now found'em! I already saved loads so i'll be postin'em here soon! BTW Eryk, i just registered on your board so expect to see me there often !
^^^^Well, the OG one got trashed, the second should be still around today, i seem to remember seeing it on a show coverage not long ago.^^^^ Someone else mentioned it already few posts ago anyway.
Trying to keep it alive. Wish i had a better shot of that 66 w/ blue paneling, seems amazing. The green Boat tail is pretty wicked too.
Some recent shots we (my brother and I) have taken of real lowriding... These 2 are from Chicano Park 2007.. and this was taken in San Francisco.. Let's keep this thread going! -Juan
That car, imo, would look better without the modern 100 spokes. Maybe some Trus or Starwires. On bombs, I also dig stock caps and WWWs. Just kinda throws off the classic bomb look. Like this: I know this car isn't a "bomb", it's too new. It does represent the early lowrider era though, and the wheels rule.
Today? I can only guess that the hydraulic equipped cars, have too much coil spring (for hopping) that they won't "lay". So much for the term "Lowrider" eh? In my past, a car HAD TO LAY! That was first and foremost. But, we'd sometimes ride our cars high in the 70's to show the others that we were "lifted" or "juiced" (having hydraulics). We'd usually ride around with the rear low, and the front locked up. But, when we parked, the car would "lay"
MenaceKustoms I'm debating swapping the 100 spokes for some flippers/560x15 WWW's. The wires are just a little to short for the already gear bound drivetrain.
