Good running truck. Is that a small block? What are the specs? Was that a 9" kinda hard to tell from what's left?
Sorry for the damage, but THAT WAS COOL! I mean if you're going to break something, you might as well break it right.
"Excuse me sir, but have you seen my pinion gear?" "Yes, its laying on the track by your driveshaft...pieces "
Pretty typical 9" Ford problem. They have a tendency to "push" the pinion forward, breaking the bolts or stripping the carrier assembly. Also happens with the 8" Ford. It's their weak link. Is it Mark Williams or Strange that makes an aftermarket thrid member that uses G.M.'s 12 bolt gears and technolgy? It drops the pinion lower in relation to the ring gear. Butch/56sedandelivery.
Glad to see him pull over to the side before he oiled the entire track. Good move on his part. Love the sound of that truck.
Thanks from my buddy Ronnie yea he has a sbc 355 13.5:1 compression with Brodix heads, a solid roller cam, T 400 on a brake and a blown up 9 inch with 4.5 gears runs low 11's there are some more videos of it from Temple day of the drags last year on our website
Here's a video of the truck at "Day of the Drags" last year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjy3qO3XOLA
