converting a 1949 ford sedan into a coupe

    I think it would be more work than it is worth, if you can do it yourself that obviously helps.

    When chopping, move the rear sedan roof section forward
    for better proportion, then fill in space forward of decklid.

    well im getting a really good deal on the sedan its a solid car i just a guy that has a spear coupe top but like you said i might come out spending more money then i have too

    i seen that done but i was old it was easier to get a coupe top then going threw all that sheet metal... but i appreciate the info
     
  6. Careful moving the back window forward on a coupe. It will ****not***stay in proportion. The coupe suffers from being to long
    in the trunk to window area already.move the window ahead and you will end up with no roof.best you can do is lay the window forward. But hey....beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Nuf said.

    That brown car has a great chop....I would not swap the roof...find another car and build it your way. I converted a coupe into a chopped tudor by swapping the roof and I have a totally intact coupe roof sitting in my shop that is ready to go if you decide to make a tudor into a coupe...PM me for details...
