    i would be careful.........

basically have him get the cash to ya, then do what he wants with the car.

in the old days i used to send stuff to aus and nz, but i knew the guys.
wire transfer and a co called farber freight took care of the shipping......now out of biz though,

with all the scams,im not sure id sell out of country in todays world.

    good luck though

Dont do it, unless they bring you cash. Also make them handle shipping. a lot of over seas bidders are frauds.

You'll be fine ... as long as the payments are made, there will be no problems. There's various shippers in So Cal that can help you out.

Here's how I did it. I opened a new bank account seperate from my existing personal account, had the buyer wire transfer the money directly to that account. I waited until the bank gave me written confirmation that the money was cleared. I withdrew the cash, released the title, and shipped the car. Simple as that and the safest way I could think of.

Cash in your hands and nothing to do with your bank account, what so ever!

have him do a wire tranfer to your bank. then make damm sure the funds are ther in your name. hold the car for a week to make sure his funds are ther at your bank in your name then take the car to a shipper

We are not all frauds! I regularly buy stuff from USA ebay to ship to Australia. If the money is safely in your account and the buyer organises freight I can't see the danger.

Never send anything to a hotel address

Never believe a buyer who says he's on an oil rig, boat, marine scientist. (this scam is very common currently).

If it sounds dodgy it is.

If its just a swede/aussie/NZ car nut taking advantage of a weak US dollar and giving you $ via paypal or bank transfer then they have far far more at risk than you do. You have the money AND the car

That is how I did it. The bank was very cooperative. I supplied the account number and a code the name of which escapes me but it is for international wire transfers. Once the bank confirmed the money was in the account I move the funds into my regular savings account and later closed the temporary account. The buyer (from Aus) had a friend in the city and arranged for pickup and storage. It was very easy.

seller receives the payment via wire transfer. buyer makes shipping arrangements. seller will have to fill out a customs declaration [ don't gift it buyer pays tax's ] and signs it. when and ONLY WHEN the funds clear release car and send the title. try to check the guy out via feedback or whatever. he might want a copy of title and your id. I hate that part but lets face it a drivers license is public info anyway. most are legit with the euro so high against the US dollar. it's only the ones that want to send you more money and have you return the extra [ Nigeria scam ] that you have to worry about. I use what I call a dump account at the bank. when papal, wire trans etc clear I pull the money. trust your instincts, if you got that funny feeling WALK!

Exactly what ^^^^^^^^^^^he said. I sold a car to a contractor that was in Afghanistan but was from Newfoundland. I opened a new account, his banker in Newfoundland transferred the funds to my account. The buyer made all the shipping arrangements. The only thing I had to do was meet the shipper with the car.

I believe a wire transfer is as safe as cash. You can withdraw funds from an account immediately, if it has been wire transfered to it. It is a bank to bank transaction, and the SENDING bank verifies the money BEFORE sending it to your bank...

Nothing against people from other countries, you just have to have a very long arm to put the cash in his hands. Hell even americans scam americans.

    This is what I've done:

    Wire transfer only.
I have a seperate account for wire transfers. I then move the money to another account.
Buyer 100% for shipping from you place out.

    I haven't had any problems.

    Good luck,

I have sold cars in europe and the orient and have always made sure the payment was made by wire transfer to a secure account, not my regular bank account. Once the wire transfer has hit the bank it is good and I withdraw it and move it to another account. I have always furnished a clear title and bill of sale to the buyers broker and they have made all the transportation arrangements. Has worked out fine to date.

i have sold over 300 cars, mostly overseas in the past 2 years, i have never had a deal go south. i get the money wire transfered to my bank account that is used for ebay only. i tell the customer to contact a broker and make all the arrangements. i do nothing but open the barn when the truck shows up. i have never had a dissatisfied customer overseas......it's the local people that whine about a tail light lens not being red enough or a mouse dropping under the seat.

You have obviously not heard of the horror stories when the buyer claims the item was not received or was damaged or misrepresented. PayPal will claw the money back from you and if your account is linked to your bank account there is nothing much you can do about it.

I just sold my coupe to a great guy from Finland. In the process I met an overseas broker; one the guys that worked for Boyd/TV show by the name of Thomas, he ships a lot of containers to Europe full of cars/parts.................etc.
The guy from Finland was in the US and drove up from SoCal to look at the car and paid cash..................................quite a lot of $100 bills.
I have also sold many high dollar parts to people in UK, Germany, Austria and Sweden, and use a bank account that is only used for bank transfers...................it works for me.

  26. Are you guys for real....in all reallity the poor guy from out of the country is the one taking all the risk....you have the car and his money. And he is hoping YOU are not ripping him off. Make sure the funds are cleared and in your accout before you release the vehicle. Put yourself in his shoe's. I have sold many vehicles out of the country ALL deals were perfect.

We have sold cars overseas and the last one was an o/t 1967 Mustang Gt to Ireland. If you talk to your bank about an federal escrow account it will protect you and the purchaser and is backed by the Federal government. The guy purchasing the vehicle wires the money to the escrow account and when the vehicle is put into an overseas shipping container the money is then released to you. It can also be setup so that when the purchaser inspects the car and doesnt think it is what was described, he can have it shipped back to you and he gets his money back minus the shipping costs after you receive the car again.

then he doesn't want the car that bad then. i've been in business for 40 years and have a darn good rep. i sold several truck loads of cars to one customer in japan..he trusted me,i trusted him..but i'll be damned if i'm gonna ship a car out that's not paid for..will your local dealer let you drive off the lot and park the car 12,000 miles from home while he waits for a check to clear....no..and neither will i.

    Dont be Skeerd!!!
It EZ ENUFF... Wire Transfer as mentioned above. Long Beach is full of Warehouses with cars that go out of the country on a weekly basis. Buyer will most likely arrainge shipping. I have done about 40 cars myself. I like to take em to the warehouse myself to look at all the ones on the way out.

For security reasons you don't want to give out your current account information, i.e. checking account or savings account. You want to open up a new account specifically for a wire transfer. Go down to your bank and tell them want you want to do and they should be very obliging, mine was anyway.
