When I was going through all the Barris pix I came across this picture of Blackies Roadster
and I had to really look closely cause it was true.. He would tilt the car on its side to show
the under carriage.. After talking to George about it.. he said that every few hours they would lean the car on its side so everyone could take a peek...

I would love to hear more on this and even see some pix if any one has them...

Thanks to Brett Barris for the pic.. I told you i would give you props :D hehehehehe

Crazy!! No leaks??? Tube axle and a personal nerf bar??? I want to see more!!

Also, where can I find tires like that where the tread wraps around the sides?? Motorcycle or are they just an older mold not re manufactured anymore?

Blackie's Roadster, to me, is the most beautiful roadster ever built. It was built in the day, but holds it's beauty and top notch construction today. Yes, I know that is a pretty bold statement. But, someone has to be on top.

Pretty cool. Was it ever mentioned how they tipped it? Get a few guys and hope noone's nuts end up on the floor? Or did they use jacks, chainfalls, pickers....what and how!! Those tires look to be motorcycle tires. Coker repops 'em.

One of the circa 1953 magazines published a shot of the underside...before I read about the tipping, I puzzled over how they got that shot for a long time.
The tipping was actually a common period practice for light racecars and track roadsters.

What kept gas/oil/gear lube from absolutely POURING out of that thing?

I've never been crazy about the car but there's no denying that it was/is a nice little roadster.
