Sorry you're full of hate. These carbs have not yet been officially launched. PM me if you want the price, but I'm not about to post it without permission. Maybe tomorrow, if you can endure.
do they still leak and flood, like the old ones? I switched to 94`s a long time ago but dam that`s a beautiful carburetor It`s gonna be a shame to wack it with a hammer to try to get the float unstuck
I love to look at shiny chrome.... please tell me the plater that ruined your new carbs didn't get any of your money. He didn't know what he was doing to plate them wrong AND strip them wrong.
Crap... I have a feeling the 3x2 on my Y-Block just got a whole lot more expensive! Wow... really awesome!
Those are are work of Art! Clive has done such an amazing job on updating the old 97's, it's too bad the garbage from Speedway motors gets all the attention. I wouldn't be surprised if speedy bill used Clive's 97's for reverse engineering to come up with the cheap offshore knockoffs he calls carburetors. Uncle Max, have you heard anything as to when they will be available in quantities? I'll bet they fly off the shelves when they are released. .
It's not hate, it is frustration. Thank you for finally posting the information. As I wrote in my original post, it would have been nice to know that either the price was 'X' or that the price would not be available until 'date'. Why should we have to go this long just to find this out? This information is kind of key to this entire thread, right? Not pages of gee whiz. Again, either the information (availability and price), or a date, or a date for the date: no problem. Playing coy, though, by remaining silent: annoying. Just saying.
There's a seven hour time difference from where I am to England. Add to that, I have a job. Again, consider I am not the one who started this thread. Chrome carbs will be available - special order - by mid February. Although the cat's out of the bag now, they will be officially launched at GNRS the end of January. Suggested retail will be $599.00. There's a ton of hand work along with pre/post chrome hand polishing, not to mention all the linkage bits. Hope this satisfies your frenzied lust ;>)
These new Strombergs are the cats ass. They work bitchin, they dont leak like the old ones do (the ones i've delt with have never leaked but it all leaks eventually), they are made beautifully and Clive is a nice guy. Now in chrome!!! What else do you bastards want!!!!
All Stromberg's leak, even the new ones. We had 3 old CHROMED original Strombergs on our HA/GR flathead powered car...they leaked alot. I think it was because of the gaskets not sealing against the chrome. So I bought 3 new ones...and they also leaked. You just have to live with it.
Chromed 97's look almost as good as fuel stained, original finished ones...... Good to see Genuine Stromberg 97 going strong.
I could too...I wasn't saying not to buy them, I will buy some more new ones, I just wanted the guys to know that whatever makes them leak is still there.
