well today at the grocery store I saw a Hot Wheels car. Me being a teenager now, I experienced bad street rod, made in China crap Hot Wheel cars and gave me vibes of Hot Wheels being very junky. But today I saw a 1937 Ford gasser Hot Wheel car that was pretty nice. It gave its class of gasser, had a moon tank, finned valves ect. it looked ok... so in your opinion, are Hot wheels coming back.. even if you don't answer this question just look at the pice ( they are kinda low quality because it was my phones camera and the plastic was giving it glare:mad:)

There are definately collectors of Hot Wheels out there. My fiance has over a hundred of them that she's slowly selling off.

Hot Wheels never left. We have a group on here dedicated to them. The new series that is insane are the Dragstrip Demons. Pretty pricey but cool as hell. There are 30 based on vintage rails, funnys, altereds, etc. They have done that Passn Gasser in a few different color combinations. I believe that one is the 5th. There is purple, yellow, black and green with different sponsor stickers etc.

Be glad it is just a hundred. For most hot wheels collectors a hundred cars is a drop in the bucket. I have between 3 & 4000 cars. I know some collectors that have 10,000 plus.

As to the gasser is is called Passin' Gasser (casting name) and it is a pretty cool car. also issued in green & flat black. there is a well done willys coupe, a 59 (?) edsel, a 53 chev custom (think moonglow) and a tucker for a few others. also a track T and lately a lot of well done 60's & 70's muscle cars.

Buying one leads to buying one more leads to buying one more leads to ..................:D

Hotwheels has always had cool cars every year......more some years than others, but every year there's something very cool....

Fighting the urge to buy Hotwheels has been an endeavor hard to overcome as of late.

  8. The originals were made in Hong Kong if I remember right, and the quality was not too bad.

Lately the it seems like quality has not been good. But I've not seen the new series you mentioned.

There's usually 2 or 3 a year that catches my eye. The last one I bought was a 427 66 Fairlane.

Every year there are a few new castings that Hotwheels puts out that are pretty cool. Even though some castings are cool some people can't leave well enough alone and have to customize them!:D

I'm guilty of that. I finally finished the 40 Ford for my Hollywood Knights set and I'm looking for a couple of more cars to finish my Gumball Rally set.

The Ranchero and sedan delivery pictured below both started out as the Hotwheels Ranch Wagon.

  17. I always try to find some cheap to re-sell at the car shows, it's good to have something you can sell for a buck or so. This year I was pleasantly surprised, I was able to get a bunch of mostly American muscle cars with a few classics (including that '37 Ford) thrown in.

:D I think everyone that customizes Hotwheels did the same thing when the Metrorail came out. Well, not everyone replaced the engine and made opening doors, but they sure as heck cut it up and made it stock length again. LOL. I know I did. Mine is white and yellow.

  20. I just bought one last night for my 3 year old daughter. It is a '53 Cadillac flower car with a soap box derby car in the bed. Never seen it before but they had a couple different colors of it. I would have loved to have had that one when I was a kid.

You just gotta take a kinda cool car, cut the hood out of it, put in a big motor, and make it into a rat rod. Then hotwheels will be cool again.:D

At one point I had over 5,000 of the danm things! I'm down to less than 250 now, most of which are out of the package. The original redline ones are my favorites.
