I think speedway motors sells '37-48 ford brakes that self energize,if thats what you want.Supposed to fit buick drums too.12x2 or 12 x1.75.Kinda salty though. One backing plate complete for front is $399.99. No bearings, seals or hubs.

you may want to call Eric @ Riley automotive, he sells the Lincoln brake assemblies made by "MT products". and he`s an alliance vendor!

Riley has the prices on there web site. I was kinda looking to compare. I have heard good things about Wilson welding but never done any bussiness with them. I did not want to call and waste a working mans time on Me price shopping. Just waste some HAMB guys time that just did a set of brakes.

Well, if you want to buy cheap Chinese trailer brakes or rips offs from other peoples hard work knock yourself out.

If you want all American made with all good stuff you can get your brakes from Bob.

I just got off the phone with him.

Complete set about 1140 plus around 25 bucks for shipping.

Besides being a buddy I am a paying customer and could not be more happy with my Wilson Brakes, I just opted for fins instead.

Bob Wilson is one of the good guys and wouldn't be wasting his time giving you a price. Give him a call.

Wilson supplies them to Speedway. That price is for both wheels.

I bought some parts for my front brakes from Wilson Welding, shoes and cylinders, IIRC, Bob is one of the nicest guys I've ever dealt with in the hot rod parts industry.

just seen in a mag the other day disc brakes inside the drums with the fins. I thought it was cool to have the stoping power of disc but the look of drums. The truck was called tangerine scream.

Buy from Bob directly. I would type a lot more about this, but Merc pretty much said everything I was going to say.

The phone number Weasel posted is his cell phone number. He has gotten a lot better about stopping what he's doing to answer it, so give him a call.

Look at that, the BASS and DIRTY SEALS of APPROVAL.

You can't get much better of a recommendation.

Brizio is big on Bob's stuff too.

All three are builders of cars;)

Three thumbs up for Mr. Wilson. Walking history book and bad ass parts. Overall, with all costs involved you will be hard pressed to get a better/cheaper deal, service...

Even the EX saw value in his stuff vs. others with the prolific and profound statement of "Well...brakes are pretty important".

Side note: Worked on an o/t deal a some years back with him. Stopped by his place for just 5 minutes to meet him for the first time so he could look over the part and project. Took me an hour and a half to get away from him. LOL.

And then to top it off he referred me off to someone who he trusted to do it if he needed it done for himself.

Damn good people, speaks engrish pretty well, makes things with hands and tools in a place somewhere called "In the USA"...

We're going to need a whole lot of people like this in the coming years if we're ever going to regain our place of prominance in the world. When I get to the place on my curent project that I need brakes, Bobwill get my business.

    mr wilson is GREAT!

he even has a the key to the city of wellington.

  28. I have 2 sets of his drum brake set ups on my car. The fronts were pretty easy to figure out. But when I wanted to put a set of 45 fin Buick drums on the back it was not so obvious what to do. A couple of calls to Bob and he set me up with loaded backing plates for my Ford 9 inch. Then he made some spacers for me to get the offset correct. Awesome guy.

:) No one noticed but the SMALL shoe goes on the front. I ran it the wrong way for a while. Its fixed now.

ill add my thumbs up to Wilson Weldings quality of product, i had a set of his finned backing plates..... and, if you ever have to resell to recoup your money, they retain value.

i will buy from him again in the near future, most definitely.
