Transportation....That´s all, huh Did anybody digtalize it yet? I would love to see that film so bad!!!
Is the white Strays Rivi the same one thta used to be orange-ish last year? Strays are top class! Love every single one of their cars, customs or lows.
yes it is, the car's not finished, lots of tricks to come yet. Strays have the old skool look down for sure.
^^^that's a nice "overview" of The Strays Tony!^^^^ thanx. I have a question for you guys, im settin up a fotki page so that i can post big pics here and post at all on the LBCC message board and im doin albums w/ all the stuff i collected during the years, im startin w/ old skool lows of course and wanted to know the name of the original owner/builder of these two, as i have enuff to fill a folder for each one and i want to title'em properly, like "Lenny Erikson's 56 Chevy by Winfield"....suppose you got my point by now. Thanx in advance, Nick. PS: Tony? Got dish?.... Bitchin ride bro!
Nick, I don't know who owned the Riviera. But it was painted by Bill Carter in the late 60's. I bet Howard Gribble knows since he took those photos. Shit he has so many great shots, it might have been his. I know for certain that the Impala was owned by Howard Gribble. One of the baddest ever. Came out of the South Bay, I believe. Bought new in 67. Painted and lifted with in 6 months. Striped by the one and only Walt Prey. You might recognize Howard Gribble as the photographer who took all those oldschool pics from shows back in the day(many of which have been posted in this thread). He contributed lots of old photos and info to the Lowrider History Book that LRM did. He first posted them on his 'Kid Deuce' flickr page. He now has a page on Rik Hoving's site as well. I have a great deal of respect and admiration for him. Here are more pics of it. (Here's this link for larger versions: http://www.flickr.com/photos/80643375@N00/sets/72157594581005075/ Walt standing with the car. Walt striping it.
Lorenzo's Rivi is looking badass! It's been one of my favorite cars around for a long time. It just keeps getting better and better. I'm stoked for him. Firme dude tambien. One of the coolest cats I've ever met.
Thanx Eryk, yeah i know Howard's work, and i have all of them shots from his page, but i had no clue it was his car, and i never saw him too, so i didnt recognize him. I'll title the Rivi album as Bill carter's work maybe, or i might look for Gribbles contact and ask him. Talk to ya soon, and thanx again. PS i can never get enuff of those "back in the day" shots....wish it was a 1000 page album! Edit: Did small search today on google for Howards Chevy but couldnt find anymore shots. Apparently his are the only ones'???? can it really be? Anyway, found out the Rivi was Danny and Caren Jones, as you said paint by Bill Carter and striped by Walt Prey. Oh and on Howard's fliker page theres tons of info on his 67....shame on me for not noticin b4!
Anyone want to roll to this with me I am going with my Club but all are welcome!!!! Last year was unreal!!!!
John, is that the same show that was @ Hollywood Park last New Years? And at the Veteran's Stadium the year before?
