Thanks, here's a couple more pictures.
Great thread, I like the original cars and the mix of the new cars build in there tradition, that was the inspiration for the build of this car.

Thanks, Steve, for posting those. I really like how you did the interior and trunk area.

    FYI:

Alternators and Superbell axles are not period correct for the 1940's

Yes they are. All of the photos were taken by Don Cox, a photographer in the navy during WWII. Many more can be found in the Robert Genat book The Birth of Hot Rodding. The Story of the Dry Lakes Era.

I've always thought the V16 Caddy engine could have been a great engine to hop up if it wasn't so expensive and a touch on the heavy side.
Having said that, the early dry lakes racers owe alot to the circle track guys for the abundance of speed equipment that made it's way west.

you nailed it! great looking coupe, they were not as common as Ive been seeing in this thread, roadsters are the dominant. love em both (with a preference towards coupes) but thats like comparing blonds to brunettes to me....love em' all! great pic and good work

this thread surpassed my expectations, ive said it before and ill say it again, thank you for all the cool pics!

Time to come clean on this one I guess,.... I originally posted this on the Cool picture thread with a big cheesy smiley face, it is my crappy attempt at photo shoping, yes its my shop and it's my roadster, but the pictures were taken about 55 years apart, the guy is the original owner of the station and behind the superimposed roadster he is holding two very nice Pike.
