    My current project - a 1956 Plymouth two-door wagon, getting a 440 auto with a '66 Ply B-body 8-3/4 rear axle.

Plans are to keep the semi-flat green, and go with a lime green flaked roof. Remove the bumper guards, use a DeSoto grille insert, Hudson wheelcovers (shown) with 3" wide whites. It already has a 3" lowered rear, and the front will get 2-1/2" dropped spindles.

I've considered Packard taillights, and might still go that route.

soon to be my daily driver is a 59 ford 2 door ranchwagon custom including full air ride a/c rack and pinion steering, disc brakes 5.0 fuel injected t/5 5 speed yes it runs now new wiring evrything new did most of the work myself with a buddy of mine except the body and paint. also includes scallops on paint and skirts, functrioning lake pipes with electric cutouts

  4. Here is my project. Some People think its cool, others just don't get it. A friend said "what did you get it for?" I told him what I paid for it, then he said "no I mean what did you get it for...like why would you want it..."

Its starting to grow on people though! I'd like to see that book when your done.

Not radical, and won't be either. Should be a nice resto-custom when finished.

I know and that's the kind of thing I'm after! He sold it, but MIGHT be getting it back. Hope so! Nothing like a cool custom wagon towing a rail job to the track!!!

Here is a picture of my 68 Plymouth wagon. It's not to custom but it's still cool.

If it's Rodger Stevens' Cabellero, I agree! Don't know his HAMB name though. Can anyone help on this?

Great wagons posted here, guys! Thanks. The book is about full up, but I'd really like to find some '60s style full customs to top things off. I just know that someone out there has one collecting dust in their garage... Maybe this is the time to dust it off and click some cool pix of it, before it totally rots way.....

If I subscribe to this thread, can you keep us updated on the book's progress? That sounds like the perfect gift for my wife (a certified long-roof nut).

I don't know if Ryan will put up with that - my final deadline isn't until July of '10, then Cartech has to do their thing to it. No idea when it'll hit the bookstores - maybe next Christmas. Should make for a fun stocking stuffer though!

Right now, I'm looking at a January deadline for the "Customs" chapter, so I'm panicing to get it organized and finished.

Did all of you HAMBers with custom wagons that I've spoken with read that last sentence?
    It's panic time!!!

But yeah kids, be sure to look for "Wagons Ho! America's Coolest Station Wagons" next fall, wherever fine reading material (Cartech/SA Design) is sold! (I guess you can never start the spam machine too early)

Love that engine! Where on earth did you find that aluminum head? Or are you faking me out with paint?

Heres some of my favorites not including an example of the avererage 4 door 55 chevy wagon but some smaller miniature looking versions of the tri five chevy wagons consisting of the late 50s to early 60s Vauxhall,Holden, and Opel wagons in the last pics.

Sorry none of them are mine and not exactly the style you are looking for anyway but I thought I would share.
