I made my first set of wide whites today. They turned out pretty nice and it gives them that old school look!

that is the only reason you even clicked on this thread isn't it? just to******.

let the guy show off, he has something to be proud of. looks a hell of a lot better than the raised white letters.

Looks good... would look better with something besides those rally wheels. Some straight up steelies would rock.

I used a 4.5" grinder with a 36 grit disc and smoothed it out with a orbital sander with 40 grit

how else can a new guy learn to search for topics that are open? there are several threads on here about posting your homemade whitewalls. that is why it is suggested to search before you post. he could have added his pics there and been a part of a broader dialogue.
not being grumpy, but there is some protocol and if the new guy doesn't hear it,the forum will be over run with post on one subject.
come see me and i'll give you a tour of my cars.

No need to get rid of the Rallys, just cover them up with some vintage hubcaps.

Yeah, and we could just add the******ing part in one of the other 10,000,000******ing posts! Might should have searched for other similar******ing posts first.

Thats funny this was posted today. I was just informed on how to do this today on the phone, and bam here it is. We want details I was told to do it on a old tire balancer and use it like a lathe. Well...... I don't have one of those, So what did you do to make them look so good?

  28. They do look nice. I think the hard part would be to find a tire that had enough white underneath to make a nice wide whitewall like you did. I guess the Dunlops are on the good list.
