  1. I've seen one these lowered down, w/ Big Torq Thrust on it.. It was almost enough to make me wanna be a Ford guy. I said Almost!

Okay, anyone know what's happening with that green '60 Merc wagon (with wood)?
    How 'bout DB Zaks?
Skate Fink: Excellent example of a mild custom wagon!
Low Budget: That silver/blue Olds would work! Know who owns it?
Believe it or not, we already have a '59 Opel - a real badass, too!
    Thanks guys! Any more???

There was a very cool mild custom gold 57 Nomad in Hot Rod mag back in the early 60's. It was evidently well known on the show circuit, but was the guy's daily and racer too. It was lowered as much as was reasonable to drive at the time, nothing like today's bagged/slammed rides, and I think it had either Americans or chrome steelies on it. Very nice car. I'm not sure of this, but I think the article was titled "Reacher."

I have a late model Caprice Wagon (aka '3TONFUN') that got hit by a building a year ago today. It redefines ugly. Was a cool car. Lowered, flaked, shaved. But now, it's just wrecked and ugly. But I can't seem to bring myself to part with it.

Yes Jay, I speak of your Opel. That thing is already an animal and is just going to get meaner... Merry Christmas!

jangleguy, I'm working on getting you some pictures of my beater. My pseudo-pro photographer buddy has been doing holiday stuff, but we're going to be doing some photos really soon.

There is a wild '65ish Plymouth wagon here in my town, it has a pure-custom tail treatment and it's purple with orange flames. You gotta see it to believe it. I'm going to dig through some Pistons and Paint coverage to see if I can find it...

  24. Jangleguy, I know my '56 Plymouth won't be anywhere close to looking what I want it to until June of '10, at the very soonest. I'd be interested in getting your book, though!

So no radical custom wagons on the HAMB, huh? Who'da thunk it...
We already have several pages of radical high buck customs done in the modern style, but I really want some warmer '60s style examples, as a little reality slap - the wagon world seems to need a reminder of these cars (plus, that's just my personal preference).

We're also looking for Art wagons and Hippy wagons, as we have chapters for them, too.
There's also chapters on stockers, beaters, drag (and street race) wagons, even dead wagons. But right now, I need wild customs! Bring 'em. How 'bout you Lowrider guys???
