I saw a video on you tube for a sedan conversion and was wondering if some one has one for a "Hard Top" ? I'd like to save it to a disk here at work as I live in the sticks and only have dial up service. I'm thinking about doing this conversion on a '57 Chevy hard top. Can some one help me out with a video or tell me the biggest problems with a heads up look out!!!!!!!!!

    Dan,

Do not try to make it look like a Factory Original , make it look like a Dan's Original !

    Good Luck,

The sedan 4 dr to 2 dr is not all that bad, but the hardtops are way different. The 4 dr hdtp does not have the flippers that the 2dr hdtp has. The roofline at the rear is way different. I always thought that the 4 dr hdtp has a very stunning roofline. Best thing to tell you on that is to either shave the rear handles, or dig in and move the post back, extend the front doors, shorten the rears and weld them up. A neat idea might be to do a modern spin on it and lengthen the fronts to be same as a 2dr and shorten the rears. Kind of like a car version of the late model extended cab trucks with a small rear door. Maybe have the rears open suicide style too.

I really like this idea. I wanted to do shortened suicide rear doors on my wagon. I think it would look great and be a fresh take on a '57 chev
