Projects '29 Ford Roadster PU Project - in progress

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by psycho666, Dec 31, 2008.

  1. Like they said, sometimes you just hit the wall and need time away from the car. In my case its sat for 6 months or so, and reading back through your posts has remotivated me, so thanks for the inspiration! The thing is not to feel pressured by others to finish it on anyones timeframe other than your own. Its a big thing to create or "give birth" to a car, and the gestation period is as long as it takes. Hang in there!

Ya, take your time Lauren. You just got us going and we like to see your progress. Your amazing.

  3. Hey Lauren, I have been checking your build progress, looking for the date of completion. I haven't seen any progress lately, and wondering if you hit the wall, or lost interest. I was looking forward to seeing your pickup in person, hopefully at billetproof 10'. Life can get pretty crazy, so hopefully you haven't lost interest, just taking a little break. Keep up the good work, and keep us posted.

Hope you are somewhere warmer than where your rpu is and I hope you are there by choice!
Speaking as an old guy that NEVER gets rid of any vehicle I get----there is no rush...With the time you have in that truck I bet you keep it until you are older than I am now. The build-up you are doing will be some of the best memories of your life. You've done enough where the end is in sight so take your time and enjoy it. We all get inspiration from your build thread so we are impatient but you don't have to be! There is no deadline for FUN!!!
Hope you are having a great holiday time and a great life.

    UPDATE

made fuel line for top of gas tank. drilled a hole in the wooden bed for the line to go thru. we ran the fuel line underneath the bed. we cut rubber hose to prevent the line from clanking on the tank.

    UPDATE

last week, i had finished up the radiator support brackets

bent rod for the round part of radiator support rod. ground off each part to a point so i could weld in between. i had to have the curved part because my grill is so far down and my engine is in the way :) oh well..

mocked up - we have clearance

measured a piece of rod that ended up being 4" - ground it down to a point and welded it the same to the curved piece. i had to settle for the look of this because the single valve cover is off-centered. so, it's an optical illusion so it looks like it's crooked but its really not...and it irritates me haha grrrr

the other end of that 4" rod is welded to a 2x2" square piece of 1/8" metal for support. i drilled holes in the square and put screws and nuts on it to hold it in place.

    that's all for tonite.
