I Have the door tops from Kev's pickup, does that make my truck more better? Im just glad some one anwered my want add for the door tops and he was fast in communication and shipping. Couldn't complain about the price either! Thanks again kev and congrats on another mag article!

and I see you went to the Drury Hill climbs. Thats my Old 39 in 1962 being raced in a Drury hillclimb.

 

Kevin is my hero! He truly is living the life. It was my pleasure to sit with him at Drag Fest '09 this year. He was giddy as a school girl every time the Winged Express made a p***. He probably doesn't realize that he is part of memories I'll carry forever.

Nice to see recognition of someone with such p***ion for what we all love!

 

We've known each other since the mid 80's when Kev first took his Willys (Orange Plus) to LA County Raceway (Palmdale) where we met. We became instant friends as we were both Willys owners, though mine wasn't running. When he started the WC Willys Club, my membership number was 001. It was fun helping someone as enthusiastic as Kevin with the newsletter, Willys Roundup and other events. Through his enthusiasm, I got inspired and we may have fed off each other. Things weren't always as kosher as it seemed as the club had its trials and tribulations but Kevin always seemed to pull through for the members being the upstanding person he is. What impresses me most about Kev is his Kiwi Enginunity (maybe he's Burt Munro reincarnated? - World's Fastest Indian fame<WORLD'S fame Indian Fastest>) & appreciation for old things - he was born in the wrong era and wrong side of the pond! He should've been born in the 40's in the States so he could've experienced growing up in the 50's, 60's and early 70's like I did - the best time for Hot Rodding.

We recently helped celebrate his big 5 0 with a few friends on the 3rd of Dec. He's been a good friend and has always been there when I needed him. Yes, our friendship is worth its weight in GOLD!

Fame isn't all it's cracked up to be. I've been famous for more than a week now and haven't seen one groupie yet! Plus Mary says I still have to take the trash out, mow the lawn etc.
