heres my old 1995 Oldsmobile wagon. Its O/T for the HAMB but I had a blast with it. I built it before digital cameras so all I have is old pictures. It is lowered 4", door handles ,trim and roof rack have been shaved. 98 louvers in the hood, frenched license plate,Ford teardrop tailights,6"exhaust out the lower rear 1/4. Pontiac Bonneville front bumper. HOK burple on top with a flame pattern that fades from yellow to red in the back and some metalflake thrown in just because I could. I built it 10 years ago and had a blast with it.I have more pictures including build pictures. Djohnson@Uniquecoaches.com

That green 1960 Mercury woody wagon is the one Boyd Coddingtons crew built for Sobe energy drinks.

Ha! That's beautiful, in its own way...
I've been told, "No hearses, ambulances, panel trucks, etc - just station wagons!"

Here's a 1956 D500 Dodge Wagon. Its a VERY rare wagon. The motor is a dual carb, high compression special D500 HEMI, one of 95 made,The wagon is 1 of maybe 2 made with the D500 package, which includes heavy duty springs and wider wheels, bigger brakes,a three speed manual trans with a electric overdrive unit, and the D500 HEMI. The original owner was Marice Petty,Richard Pettys brother and engine builder of many years. The car is currently owned by Tom Devers and has been under going a six year restore. Not a WACKED OUT CUSTOM, but more of a rare factory CUSTOM!. Mel:D

jangleguy, do you have this '61 Dodge wagon?

What's funny is, I think that blue '65 wagon on Cragars looks like it's suspiciously in the same spot these pictures were taken...

Wow, that's clean. Looks like fun. Is it a radical custom?

I don't know anything about the purple '61 except that it shows up a lot. It has an early Hemi in it too.

I sure hope you're planning on getting this for your book. I don't think you'll find a more wildass custom wagon than this one. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showpost.php?p=4710065&postcount=27

Agreed. But this book is about what's happening with wagons today. Maybe the next one will be a historical perspective - that'd be fun...
