I spoke to Dwight today and he said he would make more if he had 10 or more orders for them. The one on Ebay is the last one he currently has. I am ordering two of them so if anyone else is doing this swap, give him a call and place an order so he can get them made.

Here is a pic of what they look like:

  8. Maybe we could state exactly what this fits and more people may need them and order.

Sorry, w/ all the T-5 threads on here I figured people were familiar with them.

It is an adapter plate that allows you to use a GM (S-10) T-5 5speed overdrive transmission with a Ford Flathead. It requires a Ford 4 Speed "Hogshead" or Mini Bellhousing to attach the plate to. There are many other applications for the adapter including Model A - 4 Bangers, Ford Flathead straight 6's along with many other GM transmission choices... The most popular application is the Flathead V8 with a T-5

Here are a few pictures borrowed from "BloodyJack" here on the Hamb that he posted showing the adapter in place on his 8BA:

I believe that will bolt up to an AA bellhousing and fit behind a banger too...

<o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com[IMG]</o:smarttagtype>Dwight’s machined adapter plate while technically it could be called billet just seemed way more traditional to me than just buying a manufactured part from a speed shop.
<st1:city w:st="on"><st1>Speedway</st1></st1:city> and a couple of other vendors make them too.

In theory, none of the adapters add any length to the trans. The thickness of spacers and adapters is driven by the length of the input shaft.

The output shaft of an S10 T5 using the Flat-O adapter will be in the exact same place as the output shaft of an S10 T5 using Dwight Bond's plate.

Flat-O makes a good product and has an excellent reputation, so this isn't a knock on them at all.

As a useless aside, you're technically using more Ford stuff with Dwight's adapter! ;):D

I just recieved mine from Dwight. He said he has more in stock if anyone is interested.

The adapter was $135, as previously mentioned, but the pilot bushing price has increased to $35. Shipping was included in his pricing as also previously mentioned. Quality product, was exactly as described, and was delivered promptly. Thumbs up!

The black angled starter plate that "Bloody Jack" shows in the first picture is the wrong one to use with his cast iron half bell housing. The '49-'51 Ford stamped steel full bell is the only one that uses that angled starter plate. The link below will show and explain this better.

just got off the phone and spoke to Dwight. What a cool dude. Anyway, he says he's got another batch coming from the machine shop this week, so if your interested, send him a MO.

    His prices are:
    Adapter - 135.00
    Pilot Bushing - 35.00
Shaft to hang Model A brake/clutch pedals off adapter - 15.00

Dwight covers shipping in the US of A

    His address is:

    Dwight Bond
    200 Kelsey Ave
    Gibbon NE, 68840

I am not affiliated with Dwight in anyway, just passing along some info to HAMB members. Thanks

Is there any advantage one way or the other using Dwight's adapter with the original bellhousing adapter vs the ones from Flathead Jack or Offy, etc that have the two integrated into one casting?

No advantage/disadvantage either way in my opinion. I prefer the Dwight Bond adapter because it's simpler, the primary bellhousing is indexed, and it's typically cheaper.
