Pinstripers, post your strangest pinstriping request

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Mikey's Pinstriping, Dec 30, 2009.

  1. I've had my share of strange requests and I'll do anything for a buck or just for fun, a crack pipe, shoes on a model, flamed fingernails, a toothpick and even teeth. I know all stripers are a way off mentally, but in your mind what type of pinstriping or art have your customers requested that you would consider weird?

that would be a cool avitar.
My wife was asking about having this done for a New Years Eve Party.
How long does this stay on and how well does it take to flexing?

We striped it with Ronan water based sign painters paint (We didnt want her to have to use thinner to get it off) It was flexable and stayed on till she showered it off!....or it was licked off, i can't remember. You can probable use latex house paint to. If your striping in water base or latex use an Xcalaber brush, they work great for that. Have fun!;)

  11. Denise, you know someone's gonna ask! :D

I once lettered & striped a coffin. This guy used it (maybe still does?) as a beer cooler for parties in his shop. I just had to laugh the entire time I worked on it, although I gotta admit it was a little wierd.

    GOOD ONE! haha

The wierdest things I've striped have been a small glass bong, a couple ceramic cats, infant sunglasses...and a coffin.

  19. I've striped a few caskets too, with the body's in them. The undertaker said not to fear the dead, it's the live ones you gotta watch out for.

Fatt Stripes, dat is 1 cool mower, need to do my rider that way.

Striped my wifes toenails the last two years for the HAMB drags. Other than that the strangest was two vintage record albums, not the covers but the actual records themselves, for a guy at the Stray Kat 500 a few years back.

Striped several crawfish for a bar opening, the hard part was you had to piss them off so they would back into a corner and then they would hold there claws up and stay put, each one was tagged with stripes and lettered, Suck My Head, Eat me, Pinch my Tail, then they were let loose on the bar to crawl around and auctioned off for a charity, made for some good times and lots of drinking.

Some good stories keep em going..

I've been wanting to get my Gibson Dot 335 pinstriped..im worried that any pickin' done that might contact the stripe would wear it off.

My strangest was just a few weeks back. Phone call went like this...."I have a one horse open sleigh in my living room that I'd like to have pinstriped". It was a fully restored Janesville sleigh....minus pinstriping. Lady had some of the original pieces w/ 100 yr old striping intact that I used as reference. Striped it right in the living room of her $1M+ house!!
