cool ol door i found

a little history maybe ?
i found this here in dallas in the back woods all by its self.
wonder where the rest of the car is ?

 

Looks like a 28/29 Model "A" Sedan door to me.(that sombody went wild with Rust-O-lieum (sp?) on) But,..... I have been wrong before.

I think it's from one on Don Garlits FEDs He wasnt able to win the championship in 60, wonder what happened?? ROFLMAO

 

well, paint is a lot newer than the rest of the door, lol but still a cool wall hanger! good find!

 

I think the font used for "Slicks Racing" looks a little too late 80's early 90's. I'll bet the artist who just finished this yesterday still has a mullet.

 

All the paint is gone off the door but the lettering is still there ......strange

 

Maybe he wasn't as fast as he thought and some blew his doors off.

 

yea i kinda thought it was made up, but there seams to be rust over some of the white paint,
humm, not sure, but what the hell, its a good wall prop..

The lettering is probably something that is a lil more durable,oil based maybe?

How did that door get from some chick who bought it to hang on the wall, to some guys place in Amarillo to some woods in Dallas? Managed to get some extra weathering on the way it looks like.
