Can anyone tell me anything about United Speedometer in Riverside California? We've been using them for years, and all of the sudden their numbers are turned off and emails bounce back. We've got stuff there that they accepted and were working on, and now????????

Dang, some people panic without exercising due diligence in the most simple way - check their website - they've moved and it even says "Business is good".

It's kind of strange that their numbers were turned off and emails bounced, if they only moved 150 feet. I think that most of us would panic.

Except that's been on their site for almost 3 years, and the numbers that are on the site are the ones that are dead.

Anyone else? Maybe someone in the area that would run by the shop and have a look-see?

I thought that too, but I just heard from Mark Morton. He says he knows the mechanics shop across the street from them, and sure enough, they are closed. The mechanic said that he thought the building was foreclosed on, and that they were "in a hard way."

  11. Pretty tought to call if the numbers no longer work. Most companies don't disconnect their phone when they close for holidays.

This isn't confirmed, but I have heard that they went out of business... I guess the numbers gone and bounced emails confirm it though.

I was there about a month ago and they had a fork lift moving everything into the parking lot.
if they are out of business I hope they start up some where else!

I have used their services for many years. They do exceptional work. I sent them a clock for a '37 Buick in mid December and I got the usual 12-14 weeks turn around time estimate. They might have run into hard times with this economy and had to make a hasty move, but if the work they have done for me in the past, kinda shows that they will get back going again and my customer will eventually get his clock. In the meantime I will call Bob's Automobilia and locate a replacement if necessary.

Yea, I have two gauges I need done asap and am afraid to send them out to anyone else.

Who else is reliable and does great work? I have sent them to two different places and one time it took 9 months and one time it took a year and a half.

If anyone comes up with a definite answer, please post here. From time to time, I would refer local people to them, so I'd like to know if anything has happened.

Here's another possible referral, Mark Clawson, www.markclawson.com, 360-299-8636. I've met him, but haven't seen his work in person.
Other options would be: Classic Inst., Redline Gauge Works, RS Gauge Works

  23. X2:(. I am felling your pain as I have quite a few guages there. Hope they are just moving or something. They have always had a long turn around time but there work was always top quailty.

Is there another quailty guage shop any one can recomend

ummm, so I'm slow to getting to this post. But now I'm kinda pissed. I sent them both of the '35 Nash instrument clusters that I'm gonna be using in my coupe. These don't exactly grow on trees. When I called to confirmed they had recieved them, they said nothing about business being slow or "hey, we're going outta business".... if I can just get them back, I'll be fine. But I'll be pretty freakin' pissed if I get a run around about getting my own stuff back.
