History Drag cars in motion.......picture thread.

Hey Royalshifter, This looks like a Lakewood Chassis to me. Maybe a little bent. Where did you find the picture? Any info on the car?

This was one cool car based out of the mid west, but ventured to Irwindale at the '66 AHRA Winternationals. Marco Sandblasting was its sponsor.

 

This was the first Marco car although Howard ran gassers and a B/comp entry earlier in his career. He moved from California back to Minnesota and ran a couple of cars before building this one which won its class at the 1965 US Nationals and was Comp Elim champ at the 1965 AHRA Winternationals. A new Tuttle car followed and was also very successful.
Howard's son Gary is best known for his Pro Jack company which supplies most of the pro teams with their quick lift equipment.
Howard's brother in law Charlie James ran the Safeway Sandblasting C/GS Ardun Willys and his brother Archie ran the Interstate Sandblasting dragster in the mid sixties.

Sure wish i could find one of these old nostalgic FED sitting around in someone's barn and could be bought for cheap. Be like winning the lottery, LOL
