Living in Nor Cal has its benefits...

Like still being able to take our cars to breakfast in January while others are snowed in!! Bud Bryan from early Rod & Custom days lives on my street and we have been able to spend a good ammount of time together introducing him to some more car guys and working on our cars.... Here are some pics from this morning in Roseville...

Probably three of the coolest cars around! Man I can't wait to get my coupe whipped into shape. I hope it turns out half as cool as tha 34....actually half as cool as any of them.

Jim, It's good thing your over 1,000 miles from Michigan or you could be in for a big ass kicking by posting those pictures. It was +5 degrees here when we went out to breakfast this morning. I wasn't driving any '34 3w either.................how about a 4 wheel drive Blazer.................just so I could make sure I got home.:(

I am in LOVE with that full fendered A coupe! What are the specs on it? The stance is dead on.

I'm sure that he will be glad to see that people like the new look since he just changed it up a little. I will try to get the details from him today...

Damn, we got about another foot of snow today and it's still coming down! Someday, someday... I'll live in a warm weather climate! Okay, enough griping... back to your regularly scheduled programming!:D Thanks again for the pics Jim, I needed to live vicariously through you guys on a day like today.

Built a 32 chassis for Bud a couple of years ago and got him a stretched 29 RPU body last fall. He is building a very interesting boattail roadster based on the deuce chassis and 29 body I helped him with. It will be a head turner. You can't imagine how exciting it was to do a chassis for one of my hotrod heros. I did it his way, cause he had a plan. When he called I had to ask (are you the real Bud Bryan?) he modestly said yes and I had to bore him with how his articles on building the 29 highboy in R&C in the early 70's got me started. I'm sure he has heard this many times before. R&C should republish the 29 highboy build for the newest generation of builders, it was the best. I'm lucky enough to know the current owner Julian and to have had a ride. I'll bet a lot of the current HAMBers don't have a clue who Bud Bryan is or what he contributed to the HotRod world!
