A hit that hard would have pushed the wheels over that way.
I was in a car that hit a 57' Chevy once...they don't move very much.

Albuquerque, looking east, after an afternoon thunderstorm. The Kirtland AFB sign at right gives away the location.

Dog, where are these two locations? I think the shoebox has an Oregon plate. Can't read the Merc's. Love that house.

Yeah, and at 65 cents a gallon you could cruise all day.

As I scroll through page after page of these photos, I'm thankful. First that all these photos have been saved over the years and secondly that I'm not the only one with a sickness for these reminders from the past.

Here's a few of my dad and his cars from back in the day.

  12. In 1967??? Gas for 65 cents a gallon??? Not in Michigan. 32 - 38 cents thru much of the late 1960s was more like it.

Summer 1971 in Detroit area, I found a couple of rival stations price warring - 27 cents a gallon. Later that year after I joined the Air Force I was stationed in South Carolina, gas was 35 cents a gallon on base.

This thread is great - keeping those old vintage memories alive!

Yeah, mostly in the 20-30 cent range in 1967.I remember buying SUNOCO 260 for 36 cents and thinking it was expensive gas.

  15. This shot of the Pontiac race car reminds me of the old NASCAR when they actually ran production cars modified for racing.I quit watching when they quit racing real STOCK cars. Ah, the old days.....
