I'm thinking Old Fast Eddie better lay off the beer for awhile.Getting that 65 back this week I'll put him back to work get him back into Racing trim.

Ken;do you know if the later 64 Comets had one piece front fenders? In some pictures it looks like they are one piece as I don't see a seam. You have some great pictures!!! ROY.

The Williams Bros. are still racing this car --aka Smoky The Bear--Gary, the driver, is a retired US Forest Service employee and is "sponsored" by the Forest Service (LOL)

  10. There are several Comets in Ames Okla on display. Is this one there also?

Did that last one come from ford with a hood that has BOTH above the grille openings AND a "T" Bolt tear drop?

I've seen that also Roy .I'm thinking that on the early fenders they hadnt incorporated the end cap in fiberglass. And later fenders the fenders were all fiberglass with the incorporated end cap and no chrome piece. It looks mostly like this happened the same time they switched from the teardrop to the ram air hood.
I wouldnt mind seeing an original set to see.

Ken;that is what I thought on the 64s.I would like to see Crites build the one piece 65 bumper-splash shield and fiberglass fender extensions.I have seen the 64s with the combo hood, never knew if they came that way. They make sence though because they would give you carb clearance and ram air. ROY.

George;any updates on your Comet? I have seen pictures of the 65 roadster but not the 64 fastback or the blue 66-67 roadster. That 64 roof looks like an early Barracuda roof. That 65 Comet sedan,6 banger runs HARD! ROY.

thanks for the info Roy, i like the fast back look of that 64. it would be a great car to pull my comet around to the tracks! lol.

i just got my 460 block back from the machine shop last weekend, i have been putting it together all week, getting ready to start on porting the heads. "gasket matching the ports on those, new valves and springs. i want to get it all together to see how far back into the cockpit i can set it, so i can finish up the doghouse/firewall. i got my crites ram air hood in. nice, now im gonna order the teardrop to glass onto it. kinda skeeer'd though its a 320.00 hood:eek:

i will post some pics up when i get back on the body and frame. i didnt think you guys would wanna be board with the engine assemly process.

    thanks again
