Hey all: Do you have or know someone with a FED, Altered, FC, Coupe or Roadster??? There is a racing series being set up for a center steer cl*** to run along with the G***er Gang of western NY. Its being called center steer but a Vintage style Roadster or ******* Coupe would be great also. I have another thread going on this because the HAMB rolls so fast that I am trying to catch attention. I think this is great, however; since this is not my deal I can only throw some thing out there. I have a nostalgic drag car which does not fit into any of your catagories, ie; an altered, similar in 'looks' to the "Orange Crate", however not center steer... I certainly understand you have to enforce rules to keep things traditional, no electronics, true to the sport of nostalgia drag racing, but can the rules also allow a vehicle to be raced which is true to the spirit of vintage racing? Just a thought, let me know if I am way off base, as I have been told before I do not belong... Thanks.... Candy-Man: Your car would race with the G***er Gang. The G***er Gang has decided that center steer cars [FED's and Altereds] could race also. That is what we are trying to let people know more about. The G***er Gang has been very successfull and all they run cars like yours. Jump in its Fun! Matt Shaff
Sounds great, I don't expect anyone to change the rules for me. I just want traditional styled drag cars from days gone by racing.....
Candy man: Nice Blog. Your cars are beautiful. You know my first impression is that your car fits in with the G***er Gang ...but it also really fits in with what we are trying to do. Its being called the Center steer cl*** but really a car like yours ,or a comp coupe, Roadster and the like really fit in our group. In my thinking anyway. I dont think the G***er Gang would be that strict. Would you be willing to tow to NYIRP?? It would be great to see your car anyway. Hey Guys! The 2010 race schedule is up on www.g***ergang.com It will be great to see the feds, altereds etc. running in conjunction w/the g***ers!! They will certainly be a welcomed addition. This monthly race series is growing bigger & better each year and is very well run & organized. Great bunch of guys to race with, and we always have a good time.
Mornin: A BTT for the snowed in Drag Racers... People are starting to talk and the interest is great. Just a thought. At NYIRP they run test and tune on Friday nights. You could come in after work ,play with the Car and race the next day.. We were thinking that people within a couple hours tow would be most interested but hey anyone is more then welcome...
