Plugged Radiator ?

    Brand new Walker radiator. LS1.New from GM. Dual electric fans. Overheating.Top Radiator hose hot..bottom not. Hi flow water pump. Ya think the radiator is plugged? 185 degee thermo. What ya think? Thanks Dave

    No replaced it . From a 195 to a 185..

    later model chevy engine water pumps turn the opposite direction.
    serpentine belt goes under and around instead of straight around everything,
    Not sure thats what you have but?

    No air and the thermo in in right. Never seen anything like it. Thanks Guys

    hate to say it, but drain it and see if you can force water thru it..see if the flow you put into it..comes back out the other end, at the same rate

    How do you have your fans wired up? are they hot as soon as you hit the key or on a temp relay? Whats the pressure rating on your radiator cap?

    A hi flow pump will pull a lot. Is the bottom hose where you can see it well enough to verify it isn't collapsing, restricting flow?

    Man mine was plugged partially from a mouse nest ovver the winter. would idle ok but heat crept in quick when driving. mine was old and offf the car last winter but I suppose they could have mice where they/you stored it before the install. since my back flush, temps been great!

    what kind of radiator are you using? down flow or crossflow? where is the upper hose connected on the engine? if you use a downflow radiator with an LS1 the upper hose on the radiator needs to connect to the lower connection on the waterpump. any pics of your setup? are you using an overflow bottle?
