Im building a 52 chevy fleetline, more of a custom and looking for different grille ideas. Seems alot have 53 chevy grilles and 54 Buick grilles. I like those ,but looking for more options. Thanks

I think it would be difficult to find a grill that LOOKS BETTER than the original grill on a '52 Chevy.
Just shave the badges and handles and paint it shiny.
Some same year± Caddy tail lights, without the "fin" blip would look good on it.
If you french the tail lights, french the headlights too, and vice versa, for continuity.

Take two grills and weld um together, one on top and one on the bottom upside down. Making the grill come full circle. Never seen it done before.... I think it will work

heres my old 52 chevy that i had to sell, i molded a 53 chevy grill shell and for a last second low buck grill i threw in a stainless steel 56 chrysler grill bar

  19. i've always liked the 52 grille with a buncha extra teef.

    thats what i'mma gonna do.

like an old dude said to me once... its kinda hard to mess with a factory custom grille.

  20. 49-52 Chevys are tough to change the grille in and not make it look like ass. Some look good, others you wonder what the hell they were thinking.

How about narrowing a '56 Buick top grille bar (cut it right in the center) for the top and combine with a '56 Olds top bar flipped upside down for the bottom, and either your choice of mesh insert or a bar grille in the center? You'd need to do a rolled pan to make it look clean. Done right, you should have the shape of the Buick top with a nice rounded bottom that has ends which wrap around the side a bit.

They are super cheap. Like $6 each at your local VW store. I ended up needing 11 teeth, so it was only $66 plus tax. Mount em on a piece of square tubing and your ready to rock!

Here is how I did mine:

Yeah, it is gunna be one of those deals where I can see my self doing a lot of different grilles till I find one that just ends up staying. Its still a ways off. I am still gathering parts at this point. Here is what I am starting with.

Maybe I am biased...but to change the grille on a 51-52 other than putting extra teeth on a 52 or putting a pontiac center section!!! Its just CHANGE FOR THE SAKE OF CHANGE!!!! think about it will it improve the look of the car? We customize them to make them better not just to change them!!!!
