I've recently heard soooo much on here about not caring at all about cars being sold or what happens to them. Others that have no intention of selling still saying it's just a car and if it gets trashed, it was just a pile of metal.

I'm hoping there's others out there that have a ride they've put their heart and soul into and can't imagine ever giving up. I know some will say that there's no such thing as a car that can't be bought, and maybe that is still true. But it would take a stupid figure several times over it's actual value for me and I'm still not sure it's possible.

Yeah, styles change. Interests change. Fads come and go. But I've finally got 2 cars I can't ever imagine giving up. I'm happy with mine.
    Are you?

I build a car every year or two, but this one will NEVER EVER leave my posession. My kid won't even get her when I kick the bucket.

I can see why you say that no one else is going to get it, but I have to ask, going to take it with you?................Couldn't resist.

  4. If I ever get my hands on a 1953 Buick Skylark, it will be in that category.

My 33 pickup was my Dad's old hotrod that he started in 1953 but never finished..... I got it from him in 2004 and when I got it running I took him for his first ride on his 81st birthday in 2008..... only took 55 years.... it is going to be my son's truck someday..... other cars will come and go but this one is staying

My two A's will never leave my possession. They both saved my life. My 30 gave me hope when I was battling childhood cancer and my 31 took a head-on crash that didn't kill me.

don't flatter yourself too much, everything has it's price

  8. I often get inquiries as to whether I'd ever sell one of my Cudas, and I always reply that I probably would, but it would take a lot more cash than its actually worth, so best look elsewhere.

My '48 Plymouth will be with me forever. I still have my '62 Falcon from high school as well. I've bought and sold many cars over the years, regretted selling most, but those two should stay for good. By the way - I'm firmly convinced that my '48 would probably revolt and "do in" it's next owner! A car of strong will that one!

My T is my first hot rod and it's also the one my dad never got to build because he raised a family. It can't be bought.

Could never part with my Mercury, or my "A" Coupe. Will probably inherit my Dads cars, could NEVER part with any of them either. My Chevy Panel truck on the other hand....

I won't sell my POS '55 chevy truck. It's the one I've always wanted, my unicorn, if you will. I'm putting my heart and soul into it, but it's a long long way from being done. I don't know what will happen to it after I die, but I know what it'll be doing the day before. I'll be driving it.

Mine was on cover of Popular Hot-Rodding, Aug. 76...still have it...not for sale at any price, even under "Everyone has a price" syndrome, you're welcome to bid on it though, always like to see a "high-roller" in action...

that's my favorite car also. i almost had my hands on one 40 years ago but i was to young to find beauty in it. i could have bought it for 6 hundred dollors running and driving. three years ago i had one bought out from under me after telling someone about it that i thought wouln't have bought it in a million years. it needed everything for 15,000.00 but it was restorable and my have taken the rest of my life to finish. it got turned over on ebay for 25,000.00.
my keeper is a 65 gto i've had since 1972. i don't really like the car anymore but it's sentimental.

Not sure there is a suitcase big enough to hold the amount of cash it would take. I don't need the money so what would be the point. I'd have to buy or build something simliar and something similiar just wouldn't have the same heart and soul as Big Olds.

As I said in my original post, it would take several times it's value to even consider, but maybe not even then. You might be getting close with a half a million. Hmmmmmm. Naw....... I'll keep it.
