i wasn't going to give this a bump, but it just keeps showing up near the top. i guess it has ruffled a few feathers around here. granted this is not the site for such things. (certainly not why i come here) as for the courier in the vid, i'm glad somebody came up with something to do with those ugly things. it would actually make me look at it now vs. stock. now for the sedan, it could be salvaged i think. and i don't want the builders to be completely discouraged, but they do need to know that building a car quickly vs. right is never good. i wouldn't be embarassed to get caught checking out the pickup in a grocery store parking lot, but as for the sedan i just shake my head every time i see one. been done and over done please move on.

 

You'd think part of the 18 days woulda been spent growing thicker skin...

And if he didnt want to grow thicker skin....then do his research and look at the site a bit prior to posting....

You cannot bring your rat rod themed car to the HAMB and expect it to be admired....except by a bunch of Noobs and who have no idea what this forum is all about.

I usually don`t post to BS like this. I find that this site is changing to where the ass holes have all the say on how something should or shouldn`t be built. If I don`t like a post or a car I just say nothing.The post will fall off in a few days. but it seems like some just like to shit on others for the fun of it.I been coming here a long time,seen a lot of cars like this posted here and in the last year or so this site has turned into a bitch fest. I have learned alot at this site and left many a site just for the same reasons this shit does. Yes it is not a traditional rod but jump all over a guy with a rat rod ever time he posts on this site don`t make it right. I put up with shit like this from antique guys here and i come to learn that they are not worth the time to talk to cause they don`t have a open mind and are not REAL car guys. If you don`t like the car,say nothing.Pass on the post. Don`t be a ass and jump in just to be one of the boys. We`re like a bunch of high school bullies.

 

I reject your reality and substitute my own. I say we should beat down every fucking rat rod that sticks its nose in here.

Fitzee...this site is for traditonal hot rods...his isn't, never will be. It's a rat rod...

Guys that want to keep this place traditional owe it to the newbies to set the record straight on what will and won't be tolerated. The moderators have enough on their plate trying to keep everything running smooth...sometimes a little self-policing by the members is a good thing.

The biggest issue I have is the why does the builder consider this car finished? What is wrong with actually putting a cover on the lid? What about the rest of the lug nuts? Why not finish the body either with metal work so nice you are proud of it and leave it raw, or at least patches, mud, and some color? Come on...it does take some ability to put something together....but why call something like this finished meaning it is ready to drive and enjoy instead of finished as in not gonna work on it anymore so take it away? I guess this style, rat rod or whatever anyone wants to call it is just something I do not understand.

 

Then they will have to put out a new Greatest Hits Album

 

If the integrity of the HAMB is to be maintained,then shit like that has to be addressed. Same goes for any organization,club,fraternity,sport,business,etc. Otherwise when new members log on and see that crap like that is accepted on here,it will just keep going. I doesn't take a genius to relize that they are in the wrong place,AFTER browsing a little and seeing no common interest here with Ratrods! Nothing wrong with building a car like that...but it doesn't belong here,NOR does the attitude that defends it!
Lets keep the HAMB the way that made us join here...Traditional Rods and Customs!!!

I can't believe there is six pages of this squakin'. it seems as though there are only a handful of cars that qualify as traditional. If I see one more flat black "hot rod" A coupe with a guy next to it on his soap box I am going to puke. I'm with Fitzee, dumping on these guys who built this hot rod sucks. Just because you don't like it doesn't give the right to beat him up. If the forefathers of rodding listened to their grandpa's we wouldn't be loving what we do. And by the way I ain't no rat rodder. but I won't dump on a guy like that.

All I`m tring to say is there is too many here that all they do is look for posts to shit on and love to turn on people.
